Jameson Taillon pitched four-hit ball for seven innings as the Cubs blanked the Reds 1-0 on Friday.
A one-hour, 48-minute game from a couple of teams ready for the season to end. Taillon induced only three missed swings in 89 pitches on his way to two strikeouts today, but much of the contact found gloves. It’s his fifth straight quality start to end the year with a 12-8 record and a 3.27 ERA. One probably would have expected quite a bit more from the Cubs this season knowing that Taillon, Justin Steele and Shota Imanaga would combine for a 3.08 ERA in 81 starts (plus whatever Imanaga does Sunday).

Jameson Taillon pitched two-hit ball over six shutout innings as the Cubs bested the Nationals 3-1 on Friday.
With his velocity down a bit today, Taillon got just two missed swings in the 80-pitch outing. Still, most everything the Nationals hit against him was soft. After a rough August, Taillon has bounced back to allow a total of three runs in four starts this month. He’ll take an 11-8 record and a 3.41 ERA into his final start next week. He’s currently due to face the Phillies on Wednesday, but he could be pushed back to Friday against the Reds if the Cubs want.

Jameson Taillon allowed two runs in six innings and got a no-decision against the Rockies on Saturday.
Taillon gave up five hits, walked one and struck out six. It was Taillon’s third quality start in a row as his solid season continues. He’s 10-8 with a 3.54 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 119 strikeouts in 152 1/3 innings this year. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals at home next week.

Jameson Taillon held the Yankees to just one run in six innings to get a win for the Cubs on Sunday.
Taillon was terrific against his former club with six strikeouts against one walk, and he scattered six hits allowed. The 32-year-old’s revenge tour is going well, as he also threw seven shutout innings against the Pirates on Monday. He now has a 3.57 ERA on the season, and he’ll look to keep his good run going against the Rockies in Colorado next weekend.

Jameson Taillon was left with a no-decision after shutting out the Pirates for seven innings on Monday.
Taillon gave up just three hits to his former team before leaving with a 3-0 lead that was promptly blown in the eighth. This leaves Taillon with a 2.75 ERA in his seven no-decisions this year, compared to 3.17 in his nine victories. He somehow has the same winning percentage while pitching at least six innings (5-5) that he does in his shorter starts (4-4). He’ll likely face his other former team, the Yankees, next time out.

Jameson Taillon allowed four runs over 6 2/3 innings on Monday in a win over the Pirates.
Taillon was staked to an early lead and wound up eventually getting 11 runs of support by the time he left the contest in the seventh inning to cruise to his ninth win of the year. The 32-year-old veteran righty has had some rough outings over the last few weeks, allowing four earned runs in four consecutive starts dating back to August 9. He’ll attempt to turn things around on Sunday when he faces the upstart Nationals in a road tilt.

Jameson Taillon allowed four runs with five strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Tigers on Wednesday.
All four runs scored against Taillon came in the second inning. Trey Sweeney took him deep for a two-run homer, followed by a two-run blast by Riley Greene. Taillon settled in for three more scoreless frames, striking out five on the day. The 32-year-old right-hander will take a 3.77 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 101/26 K/BB ratio across 126 2/3 innings into a start against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Monday.

Jameson Taillon wasn’t at his best in Wednesday’s loss to the Guardians, giving up four runs on five hits over his six innings of work.
On the bright side for fantasy managers, he still managed to record six strikeouts while issuing a pair of free passes. After keeping the Guardians at bay through the first three innings, they scratched out a pair of runs in each of the next two frames to take control of the game. Taillon got 12 whiffs on 90 pitches on the night — four of those on his sweeper — while posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll carry a solid 3.62 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 96/24 K/BB ratio (121 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the Tigers.

Jameson Taillon surrendered five runs in five innings Friday in a win over the White Sox.
Only because he was facing the White Sox. Taillon gave up two homers and seven more hits besides, but that was enough for a win in a game in which Garrett Crochet was roughed up. It moves Taillon to 8-6 with a 3.50 ERA.

Jameson Taillon allowed one run over six innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.
Taillon served up a solo homer to Alec Burleson in the opening frame, but went on to post zeroes the rest of the way on Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field. He departed in line for a win, but Chicago’s bullpen was unable to close it out. He struck out four and didn’t hand out a free pass. He’ll face off against the White Sox on Friday in an extremely favorable matchup for fantasy purposes.
