Padres signed RHP Jake Sanchez to a minor league contract.

Sanchez has yet to ascend to the majors and hasn’t pitched in affiliated ball since the 2018 season. The 33-year-old right-hander has spent the last half-decade pitching in the independent Mexican League, most recently for the Sultanes de Monterrey.

Athletics acquired RHP Jake Sanchez from the White Sox in exchange for OF Michael Taylor.

The 25-year-old right-hander is a bit of a project and has never pitched above A-ball, though he does own a 2.80 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 66/14 K/BB ratio over 61 innings at Class-A Kannapolis this season.
