    Rays released RHP Jake Odorizzi.
The 34-year-old veteran signed a minor league deal with the Rays during spring training. Odorizzi made two starts in Triple-A this season in hopes to get back into the majors, but if that’s going to happen, it won’t be with Tampa Bay. The right-hander missed the 2023 season while recovering from shoulder surgery.

Jake Odorizzi was pulled from his start at Triple-A Durham on Sunday due to an apparent injury.
The 34-year-old hurler had thrown just 28 pitches over 1 1/3 innings and experienced a major drop in velocity before a conference with the training staff and his ultimate removal from the game. Presumably, the oft-injured right-hander will be heading for testing to find out exactly what’s going on. Odorizzi missed the entire 2023 season while recovering from shoulder surgery.

Jake Odorizzi made his spring debut Tuesday and gave up three runs in three innings against the Tigers.
Odorizzi is coming off shoulder surgery and just signed a minor league deal with the Rays on March 15. He’ll open the season in the minors, but he should be a rotation candidate for the Rays before the end of April.

Rays signed RHP Jake Odorizzi to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Odorizzi missed all of last season recovering from shoulder surgery and is highly unlikely to make an impact for fantasy managers. The 33-year-old righty enjoyed some of the best seasons of his career with the Rays last decade and represents a low-risk lottery ticket for Tampa Bay as extra organizational rotation depth.

According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, free agent right-hander Jake Odorizzi (shoulder) has been throwing for interested teams during the offseason.
The 33-year-old right-hander missed the entire 2023 campaign following shoulder surgery, but he’s now fully recovered and ready to show what he can do. Morosi notes that Odorizzi has thrown in front of 10-12 teams so far, while Darren Wolfson of SKOR North adds that the Twins were one of the clubs in attendance. Odorizzi has proven to be a fantasy asset in the past when healthy, so he’s a name to keep in mind for the final rounds of deeper mixed league drafts.

Jake Odorizzi will miss the entire 2023 season following shoulder surgery.
Odorizzi had been dealing with what was termed as arm fatigue, but it turns out he needed an arthroscopic procedure on his right shoulder. The Rangers weren’t counting on him to lead their rotation, but it’s still a blow to their depth. The 33-year-old is due to become a free agent this offseason.

Rangers placed RHP Jake Odorizzi on the 60-day injured list.
Odorizzi didn’t pitch for the Rangers this spring due to right arm fatigue and there is no timetable for him to return yet. He’ll miss at least the first two months of the regular season.

Rangers general manager Chris Young said Saturday that Jake Odorizzi will likely be out “longer than shorter” to open the regular season.
Odorizzi has yet to pitch this spring due to right arm fatigue and will ostensibly need to build up his pitch count and stamina from scratch. It sounds like he might not be an option for at least a few months.

Jake Odorizzi, who has yet to pitch in a game this spring after opening camp with arm fatigue, is slated to open the season on the IL.
Odorizzi was expected to act as a middle reliever if the Rangers’ top five starters were healthy, but even that seems out of reach for Opening Day. Instead, he’ll spend at least a couple of weeks building up. Cole Ragans and Dane Dunning figure to be the top candidates to fill in as a starter if Nathan Eovaldi or someone else lands on the IL.

Jake Odorizzi, who has been dealing with arm fatigue, threw a light bullpen on Tuesday.
The Rangers would like to have Odorizzi ready to start at the beginning of the season, though if everything goes according to plan, he’ll likely be a long reliever initially. Of course, given the durability questions with their rotation (Martín Pérez excepted), Odorizzi figures to make a bunch of starts this season.
