The Braves were seeing Seo for the fourth time last night. Manager Art Howe suggested Seo needs to develop another pitch, ideally a two-seamer ''to run in on righties.’' His stuff isn’t fooling anyone right now.

Until Seo demonstrates an ability to get people out consistenly, he has no value.

Seo went 0-2 with a 2.82 ERA in four Triple-A starts. Back in April, he held Los Angeles to one run and six hits in 6 1/3.

He’s scheduled to face the Marlins Wednesday.

It looks like David Cone will be ready to pitch Friday and Mike Bacsik will head to the minors. Seo is not recommended.

“It was a very confusing time for me,” said Seo. “What I was told was very inconsistent. If I don’t pitch well for two or three games in Norfolk, will they send me down to Binghamton?” Hold on to Seo if you drafted him, as he’s likely to pitch in the majors somewhere this season.

Seo will oppose David Wells tonight.

Seo doesn’t think he needs to miss any time with his cracked fingernail. If Howe wins out, Dan Wheeler or a minor leaguer could be called on to start Monday at Arizona.

Seo goes from a two-start pitcher this week to one start in Minute Maid Park coming off a finger problem. Sounds best to park him on reserve.

Seo left Wednesday’s outing in the fifth inning with a cracked right index finger. He missed a start last June after a similar injury. ''We feel like we’ve caught it earlier than last year,’' manager Art Howe said.
