Jacob Wilson went 3-for-5 with an RBI in an extra-innings loss to the Phillies on Saturday.
Wilson also drew a walk. The 23-year-old has not slowed down in the average category at all, and he’s now slashing an excellent .342/.383/.474 that is even more impressive when you consider it’s his first full season of baseball. Even if the power never comes, this version of Wilson is a pretty solid fantasy option.

Jacob Wilson (forearm) is hitting second and playing shortstop against the Angels on Thursday.
It was just a one-game absence for Wilson after leaving Tuesday’s contest with a forearm bruise. The impressive rookie shortstop is back at it to square off against Tyler Anderson and the Angels’ bullpen on Thursday. Max Schuemann remains in the lineup at second base, so Luis Urias will get the day off.

Jacob Wilson (forearm) is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s showdown against the Angels.
No surprise here after Wilson was removed from Tuesday’s contest with a left forearm contusion after being hit by a pitch in the early stages of the game. The 23-year-old rookie has been sensational this season, emerging as the front-runner for AL Rookie of the Year honors, hitting .341 with five homers and four steals through 47 games. It’ll be Max Schuemann filling in at shortstop on Wednesday night. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Jacob Wilson was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Angels with a left forearm contusion.
Not great. Wilson appeared to be in a great deal of pain after being hit by a pitch in the third inning and was eventually lifted for a pinch-hitter a couple frames later. The 23-year-old rookie sensation, who is hitting .341 with five homers and four steals through 47 games this season, will presumably head for precautionary X-rays to determine whether he suffered any fractures. There should be an additional update on his status ahead of Wednesday’s game.

Jacob Wilson went 4-for-5 and hit his fourth and fifth homers Tuesday as the A’s crushed the Dodgers 11-1.
He was on base all five times up, as he also reached on an error. So much of Wilson’s contact is rather weak that it’s always unexpected when he muscles up and hits a ball 380 feet, but he’s definitely demonstrated that he’s capable. He’s up to .363/.389/.512 for the season after tonight. He has 58 hits, yet just 41 hard-hit balls. His barrel and homer totals are also equal, though the league as a whole has a little more than twice as many barrels as homers.

Lawrence Butler is not in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Yankees.
It appears to be a planned day off for Butler after making seven consecutive outfield starts for the Athletics. He’s batted .194 (6-for-31) with one homer and one steal during that span and is hitting .176 with three big flies over his past 15 games. It’ll be Jacob Wilson continuing to lead off against left-handers and he’s gotten some additional opportunities of late against right-handed pitching.

Jacob Wilson is leading off on Saturday against the Yankees.
Wilson has received some additional opportunities to lead off against right-handed pitching, with Lawrence Butler being moved down the lower half of the order, over the past week and he’ll occupy the table-setting role for Saturday’s contest with left-hander Carlos Rodón toeing the rubber for New York. The 23-year-old rookie is hitting .354/.379/.469 with three homers, 22 RBI and one steal through 37 games.

Jacob Wilson finished 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles as the Athletics’ leadoff man Wednesday.
Wilson supplanted Lawrence Butler today, and it doesn’t seem like he’ll make his way down from the top of the lineup anytime soon, though he could always bat second, rather than first. The four hits today pushed his average up to .357, good for second in the majors. Unfortunately, he did experience a rare strikeout against Andrés Muñoz in his fifth at-bat, ending the game with the tying run on first.

Jacob Wilson drove in three runs including the game-winner in the 11th to give the Athletics a 7-6 win over the Mariners on Monday.
Wilson picked up three hits in the contest, and all of them were run-scoring singles. The latter two were the big ones, as he tied the game at 6-6 with a single off Andrés Muñoz in the 10th, and an inning later, he pushed a single past a drawn-in infield for the game-winner. Wilson is now hitting .341/.363/.462, and while the exit velocities aren’t impressive, there’s no denying his contact skills — with more pop than anticipated — are elite.

Jacob Wilson went 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI on Thursday as the Athletics shut out the Rangers.
Wilson chipped in a two-out RBI single off of Hoby Milner in the seventh inning that extended the A’s lead to 2-0. The 23-year-old infielder has looked outstanding at the plate to open the 2025 season, slashing .331/.347/.458 with three homers, 16 RBI and a stolen base.
