Hunter Goodman hit a solo homer in a win over the Diamondbacks on Monday.
Goodman came up huge with a game-tying homer off Kevin Ginkel in the seventh. The 24-year-old has been a solid source of power with 12 homers in 64 games, he just hasn’t helped in any of the other categories with a .190 average, .651 OPS and one (1) stolen base.

Hunter Goodman went 3-for-4 with two homers and seven RBI as the Rockies topped the Cubs 9-5 on Friday.
Goodman had a two-run homer in the second and a grand slam to break a 5-5 tie in the eighth. It was quite a game from someone who just spent half of August in the minors for no good reason and has often been overlooked while in the majors. It’s hard to say whether Goodman really has a chance of making it as a primary catcher, but his solid bat and versatility should make him a useful player for a long time. Since the Rockies have finally decided to give him a real shot, he might be a sneaky play during the final two weeks.

Rockies recalled INF/OF Hunter Goodman from Triple-A Albuquerque.
We wrote back when Goodman was sent down on August 18 that there was a good chance he’d return when rosters expanded. Rosters have expanded. Goodman is back. He’ll likely see time against left-handed pitching for the remainder of the year.

Rockies optioned INF/OF Hunter Goodman to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Goodman gets the boot from the active roster with Nolan Jones (back) reinstated off the injured list before Sunday’s game against the Padres. Goodman has a good chance to be back with Colorado when rosters expand in September.

Charlie Blackmon is not in the lineup for Sunday’s bout against the Padres.
Blackmon suffered the contusion when he was hit in the face on a throw Xander Bogaerts. The outfielder will miss at least one more game, and he’s considered day-to-day at this point. Hunter Goodman will operate as the DH in Blackmon’s absence.

Hunter Goodman went 2-for-3 with a solo homer in a loss to the Padres on Saturday.
Goodman’s other hit was a single, in case you were curious. The 24-year-old took Martin Pérez deep to give Colorado a 1-0 lead in the third, and it’s the eighth homer of the season for the rookie over 142 at-bats in 49 games. He’s also just hitting .184, so it’s hard to justify Goodman on a fantasy roster even with the impressive pop and friendly hitting confines for half his games.

Hunter Goodman is back on the bench Monday after making his first start in four games Sunday.
It’s like the Rockies stopped viewing Goodman as an option at first base and in right field after Elias Díaz got hurt last month and still haven’t changed that mindset, even though Díaz is back now. Goodman last started at a position other than catcher on June 10. Obviously, Jake Cave is just too good to sit.

Hunter Goodman homered twice, picked up four hits and drove in five runs in a 16-4 shellacking of the Pirates on Saturday.
Goodman also scored three runs in a monster game for the 24-year-old. There haven’t been many for the infielder/backstop, but he showed off his impressive raw power with a pair of homers to center; one a solo shot and the other a two-run blast. Even with the big effort Goodman is only hitting .203/.247/.449, but that pop and his friendly home confines certainly make him a name to keep an eye on.

Hunter Goodman went 0-for-3 and struck out twice Tuesday in the loss to the Reds.
The Rockies will probably drop either Goodman or Sean Bouchard when Nolan Jones comes off the IL, and they’ve given Goodman three straight starts to help his chances of sticking. Alas, he’s gone 0-for-9, leaving him at .169/.222/.339 in 63 plate appearances this season.

Sean Bouchard is in the starting lineup again on Monday, playing left field and batting eighth.
When Jordan Beck fractured his wrist, there was some thought that Hunter Goodman would find himself with a starting role; however, Bouchard has started both games since being promoted. The 28-year-old was solid in 21 games for the Rockies in 2023, slashing .316/.372/.684 with four home runs. He was also off to a solid start in Triple-A this year, hitting .333/.439/.681 in 18 games with three home runs in 18 RBI. If Bouchard were to earn an everyday role, he could certainly be interesting in deeper fantasy leagues.
