Athletics signed INF/OF Hoy Park to a minor league contract.
Park will presumably get an opportunity this spring to compete for a spot on Oakland’s season-opening roster in a reserve role. The 27-year-old possesses plenty of defensive versatility, but he’s compiled a lackluster .638 OPS with five homers and two steals in 210 plate appearances in the big leagues since 2021. He didn’t appear in the majors this past season after bouncing around last offseason before ultimately landing with the Braves.
  • Second Baseman #92
Braves sent INF/OF Hoy Park outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Park was designated for assignment by Atlanta last week and made it through waivers unclaimed. The 26-year-old has bounced around between a few different organizations this offseason after hitting .216/.276/.373 with two home runs and one stolen base over 23 games for the Pirates in 2022.

  • Second Baseman #92
Braves designated INF/OF Hoy Park for assignment.
Park was acquired earlier this month from the Red Sox and has been removed from the Braves’ 40-man roster to make room for newly-acquired outfielder Eli White. The 26-year-old offers enough defensive versatility to stick on a big league roster as a reserve, but simply hasn’t produced at the dish over the last few seasons.

  • Second Baseman #92
Braves acquired INF/OF Hoy Park for cash considerations or a player to be named later.
The trade comes after Park was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Tuesday. The 26-year-old joined Boston this offseason after being a DFA casualty by the Pirates. He’s hit just .201/.291/.346 in 210 plate appearances over his two seasons, but he’ll have a chance to make an MLB roster because of his versatility.

Red Sox designated INF/OF Hoy Park for assignment.
Park’s stay in Boston lasted only a few weeks as he’s been jettisoned to make room for the club to finalize a contract with free agent closer Kenley Jansen. The 26-year-old super-utility specialist offers plenty of defensive versatility and should attract some interest on waivers. He’s struggled offensively at the highest level, batting just .201/.291/.346 with five homers and two steals in 210 plate appearances over the last two seasons with the Pirates.

  • Second Baseman #92
Red Sox acquired INF/OF Hoy Park from the Pirates for LHP Inmer Lobo.
Park was designated for assignment earlier this week by the Pirates and quickly gobbled up by the Red Sox in a small trade. The 26-year-old offers plenty of defensive versatility, which gives him some immediate appeal in a reserve role, but he’s hit just .201/.291/.346 with five homers and two steals in 210 plate appearances over the last two years in the majors. He’ll get a fresh start in Boston.

  • Second Baseman #92
Pirates designated INF Hoy Park for assignment.
The Pirates claimed Lewin Diaz off of waivers from the Marlins on Tuesday, but in doing so they needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Unfortunately, it looks like Park drew the short straw this time around. The 26-year-old appeared in 23 games for the big league club in 2022 -- slashing a woeful .216/.276/.373 with a pair of homers and six RBI. While he has yet to produce at the big league level, he’s still an intriguing talent and could generate interest on waivers.

  • Second Baseman #92
Pirates optioned INF Hoy Park to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Park has put up solid numbers in the upper minors over the last few years, but has struggled to produce at the highest level, slashing just .201/.291/.346 with five homers and two steals in 210 plate appearances over the last two seasons in the majors.

  • Second Baseman #92
Pirates recalled INF/OF Hoy Park from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Park, 26, is just a .202/.293/.348 career hitter in 209 major league plate appearances, but he’ll give the Pirates some versatile bench depth in their doubleheader on Wednesday against the visiting Mets.

  • Second Baseman #92
Pirates optioned INF/OF Hoy Park to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Park, 26, has batted just .220/.281/.380 in 22 games this season at the major league level.
