Hayden Senger hit his first spring homer Saturday as the Mets and Nationals played to a 5-5 tie.
The Mets told Jakson Reetz he’s not making the team, so Senger is currently in line to serve as Luis Torrens’ backup while Franciscoo Alvarez is out. The caveat there is that the Mets still could bring in an alternative from outside of the organization (Tomás Nido anyone?). Senger, 27, he never played in the majors. He hit .234/.302/363 in a 2024 season spent mostly in Triple-A.
