Griffin Conine went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Conine has hit well for the Marlins this month. He added three more hits in the win over the Blue Jays on Saturday. Conine doubled in the first inning to drive in a run, then knocked a base hit in the sixth before scoring on a single by Johnny Pereda. Conine added a third hit with a single in the eighth and scored again on a home run by Dane Myers. The 27-year-old outfielder has hit .282/.341/.474 with three homers, 14 runs scored, and 12 RBI across 85 plate appearances.

Griffin Conine drove in three runs and hit a solo homer in a blowout win over the Blue Jays on Friday.
Conine smashed a solo homer off Easton Lucas. Mr. Marlin Jr. also drove in two more runs with a single in the fourth. The 27-year-old has put up a .767 OPS in his 74 at-bats in September. He could be a bench option for Miami — possibly more, depending on where they take things — but either way, he’s not a redraft candidate for 2025.

Xavier Edwards remains out of the lineup on Thursday against the Nationals.
That’s now twice the Marlins have sat Edwards against a left-handed starting pitcher. Fantasy managers should hope that’s not going to be a consistent trend because the Nationals are starting only left-handed pitchers in this series. Javier Sanoja will start at second base and bat ninth. Griffin Conine will also head to the bench with David Hensley starting in right field and batting seventh.

Griffin Conine struck out all four times he was up Friday against the Phillies.
Conine’s major league career is off to a decent enough start, what with him being 7-for-30 with four extra-base hits to date, but he’s already struck out 11 times and his groundball rate is not what anyone wants to see. The Marlins don’t need to keep giving him this much playing time when he shouldn’t be in their plans for 2025 and beyond.

Jesús Sánchez (back) is not in the lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Phillies.
The 26-year-old was removed from Tuesday’s game with a back spasm, and then the Marlins faced two straight left-handed pitchers, so it was a good time to let him heal up. As of now, we expect that Sánchez will return to the lineup for the final three games against right-handed pitching, but we’ll have to wait another day to find out. With Griffin Conine also sitting against a lefty, it will be David Hensley batting sixth and playing right field and Christian Pache batting eighth and playing center field.

Griffin Conine clobbered a two-run homer on Saturday night, powering the Marlins to a 4-3 victory over the Giants.
The 27-year-old victimized Giants’ right-hander Mason Black for his first big-league homer in the second inning — a 401-foot two-run blast that put the Marlins ahead to stay. That would be his only hit in three trips to the plate on the evening. It’s still unlikely that he delivers enough production to be relevant from a fantasy perspective, but Conine’s blast on Saturday night was definitely a cool moment.

Marlins selected the contract of OF Griffin Conine from Triple-A Jacksonville.
At .268/.350/.475 for Jacksonville, the 27-year-old Conine has made some progress this year, hitting for his highest average since low-A ball in 2019 and dragging his strikeout rate under 30% (if only barely at 29.5%) for the first time since his pro debut in 2018. Would he be getting the call here if he weren’t Jeff’s son? Probably not, but he’s paid his dues and it’s unlikely that he’ll embarrass himself. It sounds like he’ll get the occasional start against righties, with Jonah Bride probably losing some playing time.

Craig Mish of Fansided reports that the Marlins plan to promote Griffin Conine from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.
The 27-year-old — and son of Marlins’ legend Jeff Conine — has had a solid season at Triple-A Jacksonville, slashing .268/.350/.475 with 19 homers, 68 RBI and a 129/47 K/BB ratio over 437 plate appearances. He should see regular playing time while he’s up with the Fish and could be worth a look in deeper formats for his series against the Rockies at Coors Field. Just don’t expect him to contribute anything in speed, as Conine hasn’t even attempted a stolen base this season.

The Marlins promoted outfield prospect Griffin Conine to Double-A Pensacola on Sunday.
The 24-year-old slugger leads all of minor league baseball with 23 home runs on the season, while slashing .247/.382/.587 with 59 RBI and a 103/46 K/BB ratio at High-A Beloit. Griffin, the son of Marlins legend Jeff Conine, was acquired from the Blue Jays in September to complete the Jonathan Villar trade.

Marlins acquired OF Griffin Conine from the Blue Jays to complete the Jonathan Villar trade.
Griffin is the son of “Mr. Marlin” Jeff Conine, so this is a homecoming of sorts. The 23-year-old batted .283/.371/.576 with 22 home runs at the Low-A level in 2019. He was ranked by MLB.com as the Jays’ No. 15 prospect.
