Orioles optioned LHP Grant Wolfram to Triple-A Norfolk.
Wolfram pitched both days he was with the Orioles and gave up two runs over 1 1/3 innings.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #50
Orioles recalled LHP Grant Wolfram from Triple-A Norfolk.
Wolfram will be available for the second game of the doubleheader against the Tigers on Sunday. He’ll be a middle-inning option while he’s with the Orioles.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #50
Orioles acquired LHP Grant Wolfram from the Brewers for OF Daz Cameron and cash considerations.
Wolfram was designated for assignment earlier on Monday and has quickly found a new home. The 28-year-old southpaw has yet to pitch in the majors, but compiled a strong 3.13 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 69/27 K/BB ratio across 60 1/3 innings (46 appearances) last year between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers’ system.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #50
Brewers designated LHP Grant Wolfram for assignment.
Wolfram was removed from Milwaukee’s 40-man roster on Monday morning to free up a spot for newly-acquired starter Quinn Priester. The 28-year-old will likely pass through waivers unclaimed and remain at Triple-A Nashville as extra relief depth.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #68
Brewers acquired RHP Quinn Priester from the Red Sox for OF Yophery Rodriguez, a Competitive Balance Round A draft pick, and a player to be named later or cash considerations.
The Brewers’ rotation has been crushed by injuries with all of Brandon Woodruff, Tobias Myers, Nestor Cortes, Aaron Civale, DL Hall and Aaron Ashby on the IL, so they needed to make a move for a starter. This one did cost them their seventh-ranked prospect in Rodriguez and a Competitive Balance pick, which is a pick between the first and second round in the 2025 MLB Draft. Priester, who the Red Sox acquired from the Pirates last year, almost won a rotation spot in Boston in spring training. Since coming to Boston, Priester has added a cutter, revamped his slider, and now features a six-pitch mix. Like Myers, this is the type of pitcher from which the Brewers tend to get strong results, so it wouldn’t be a shock for Priester to become deep-league relevant this year. The Brewers designated RHP Grant Wolfram for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #73
Brewers recalled LHP Grant Wolfram from Triple-A Nashville.
Wolfram is set to make his MLB debut if he appears in a game on this stint. The 28-year-old left-hander will serve as bullpen depth. He takes the spot of starter Nestor Cortes, who was placed on the 15-day injured list with an elbow injury. The Brewers will need another starting pitcher at some point soon and Wolfram could be headed back to the minors then.
  • MIL Catcher #76
Brewers optioned C Jeferson Quero, RHP Grant Anderson, RHP Logan Henderson RHP Carlos Rodriguez and LHP Grant Wolfram to Triple-A Nashville and reassigned OF Jared Oliva and C Ramon Rodriguez to minor league camp.
All of the pitchers optioned by the Brew Crew have a chance to make appearances for Milwaukee before the end of the year, but only Rodriguez is likely to make starts. The biggest name here is Quero; a catcher who missed most of the 2024 campaign with a shoulder issue, but offers considerable fantasy upside and could be be in the majors before the season ends.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher
Brewers signed LHP Grant Wolfram to a one-year contract.
It’s presumably a split contract for Wolfram, who posted a strong 3.13 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 69/27 K/BB ratio across 60 1/3 innings (46 appearances) last year between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers’ system. The 27-year-old southpaw augments Milwaukee’s left-handed relief depth heading into spring training and should have a decent shot at making their season-opening roster.
