Hartlieb heads to New York as extra organizational relief depth following five relief appearances last year for the Rockies. The 30-year-old journeyman holds a lackluster 7.37 ERA, 1.87 WHIP and 76/55 K/BB ratio across 79 1/3 innings (64 appearances) in the majors since 2019.

Hartlieb wasn’t claimed after being designated for assignment by the Rockies on Sunday. The right-hander allowed nine earned runs in nine innings of work (9.00 ERA), and will be organizational depth for Colorado for the remainder of 2024.

Hartlieb has been removed from Colorado’s 40-man roster after allowing 10 runs (nine earned) with a 7/4 K/BB ratio over nine innings of work (five appearances) this season for the Rockies. The 30-year-old righty will almost certainly pass through waivers unclaimed.

Hartlieb made a pair of relief appearances last year for the Marlins and will provide Colorado’s bullpen with some extra middle relief depth. the 30-year-old righty has posted a pedestrian 5.61 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 34/15 K/BB ratio across 33 2/3 innings (22 appearances) this season for Triple-A Albuquerque.

Hartlieb fortifies the Rockies’ organizational relief depth heading into the 2024 campaign after making a pair of relief appearances this past season for the Marlins. The 29-year-old righty has made 59 appearances in the big leagues dating back to 2019.

The 29-year-old right-hander had been designated for assignment earlier in the week. Hartlieb has actually pitched well in his limited action with the Marlins this season — posting a 2.25 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 3/3 K/BB ratio over four innings of work. He could get another opportunity before the season is through.

Hartlieb made one appearance in his latest stint with the Marlins, throwing three scoreless innings on Saturday. The 29-year-old has a 7.17 ERA in 70 1/3 innings, all of them out of the pen, as a major leaguer.

Hartlieb has appeared in just one game with the Marlins’ this season, allowing one run in his lone inning of work. He has spent most of the season at Triple-A Jacksonville where he has registered a 3.29 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 41/15 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings. He’ll strengthen the team’s middle relief corps down the stretch.

The 29-year-old will likely appear sometime during Saturday’s double dip against the Dodgers. Hartlieb posted a 3.50 ERA and 1.19 WHIP across 29 appearances for Triple-A Jacksonville and will likely head back to the minors after the game.

Hartlieb was added to Miami’s 40-man roster over the weekend and will head back to the minors with rookie right-hander Eury Pérez returning to the majors.
