Gavin Stone will likely miss all of next season after undergoing shoulder surgery, the Dodgers said.
Ouch. Stone was excellent before hurting his shoulder last month, going 11-5 with a 3.53 ERA and a 116/37 K/BB in 140 1/3 innings over 25 starts. The Dodgers could have Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May back to join Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow and Bobby Miller, but with so many question marks, adding pitching is going to have to be a priority this winter.

Dodgers transferred RHP Gavin Stone to the 60-day injured list with shoulder soreness.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters last week that Stone’s season was likely over, but now it’s official. The Dodgers transferred him to the 60-day IL to open a spot on the 40-man roster for top prospect Edgardo Henriquez to be called up prior to Tuesday night’s game against the Padres.

Gavin Stone has continued to deal with shoulder soreness and is very unlikely to return this year, manager Dave Roberts said.
Very unfortunate. Stone wasn’t going to be the NL Rookie of the Year this year even if he didn’t get hurt, but he was putting together a season that would have had him in contention many years. He was 11-5 with a 3.53 ERA in 140 1/3 innings when he went down Aug. 31.

Gavin Stone, who went on the IL with shoulder inflammation last week, is expected to resume throwing this weekend.
If everything goes perfectly, perhaps Stone will make one appearance during the final week of the regular season. The Dodgers, though, are really aiming for the postseason here.

Dodgers placed RHP Gavin Stone on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.
Dreadful. Stone will be shut down for about 10 days before he resumes throwing and any decisions about his availability for the rest of the season are made. He had been slated to start Saturday’s game. No replacement was immediately named, but Justin Wrobleski was recalled and could be the choice. Stone is 11-5 with a 3.53 ERA in 25 starts this season. He leads the Dodgers in both wins and innings (140 1/3).

Gavin Stone allowed five runs in five innings against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Stone got six runs of support from the Dodgers’ offense, and he needed all of it. The 25-year-old allowed five hits, and two of those were homers by Corbin Carroll and Yuli Gurriel. The right-hander walked one and struck out four while seeing his ERA bump from 3.33 to 3.53. Still not bad, and a vast improvement for Stone after his horrible rookie campaign. He’ll try and rebound against the Guardians next weekend.

Gavin Stone pitched extremely well in a tough-luck no-decision on Sunday, racking up seven strikeouts over seven innings of one-run baseball.
The 25-year-old right-hander scattered just three hits and two walks on the day. The only damage done against him came on a solo shot off the bat of Jonny DeLuca in the seventh inning. Stone generated 13 swings and misses on 80 pitches in the ballgame — six of those on his changeup — while posting a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll attempt to replicate this fine outing and get back in the win column as he carries a 3.33 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 112/36 K/BB ratio (135 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s start against the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Gavin Stone fanned a career-high 10 over seven innings in the Dodgers’ 3-0 shutout of the Mariners on Monday.
Stone allowed just two singles and walked two in the gem. He came into this one with a 6.12 ERA in seven starts since the beginning of July, putting his rotation spot into danger, but things are definitely looking up now. He’ll be a strong play against the Rays this weekend.

Gavin Stone allowed one earned run on three hits over five innings while striking out six to pick up the win on Tuesday over the Brewers.
Stone gave up a solo shot to catcher William Contreras in the bottom of the third inning, but was otherwise solid in this one. Despite two of the three hits he allowed going for extra bases, Stone was able to limit the offensive output by the Brewers while the Dodgers bats piled on starter Colin Rea. Stone now has 10 wins on the season and is sitting on a solid 3.63 ERA. His next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Cardinals.

Gavin Stone allowed three runs with two strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies on Wednesday.
Stone served up a solo homer to Kyle Schwarber to start the game. He got through three more scoreless innings before running into trouble in the fifth. Two doubled and a base hit brought a pair of runs in to score for the Phillies before Stone was pulled with two outs. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.71 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and an 89/32 K/BB ratio across 116 1/3 innings. He’s in line to take on the Brewers in Milwaukee on Tuesday.
