The 26-year-old hurler spent just one day with the big-league club, but he’ll be sent back out to make room for Cristian Mena who will start on Wednesday evening against the Dodgers. Hollowell will continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the Diamondbacks at Triple-A Reno.

Hollowell was claimed off waivers a couple weeks ago from the division-rival Rockies and will augment Arizona’s bullpen depth heading into Tuesday’s game against the Rockies.

Hollowell will take the 40-man roster spot of Logan Allen after Allen was designated for assignment last week. The 26-year-old right-hander will provide some depth for the bullpen, and could work in the middle innings for Arizona this summer.

The Rockies now have 42 active players on in spring camp. Carreras, 24, didn’t make the most of his opportunity in camp going 5-for-27 (.185 AVG), but did show off his power and speed with three of those hits turning into doubles. He spent most of his time in Double-A last season, but while up at Triple-A he slashed .255/.371/.373 in 62 plate appearances.

Hollowell entered the contest with one out in the seventh inning, with the Rockies leading by six runs at the time, and wound up going the distance to notch his first save.

Hollowell has struggled during his time at the major league level this season — compiling a 6.46 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 16/7 K/BB ratio across 15 1/3 frames. He’ll function in a middle relief role for the Rockies.

Hollowell returns eight days after being sent down to Triple-A. The 25-year-old righty has made one appearance for Colorado, allowing one run in two innings.

Hollowell has been shipped back to the minors to make room for Tuesday’s starter Noah Davis to come up from Triple-A Albuquerque. The 25-year-old righty has made just one relief appearance this season in the majors.

The 25-year-old was pitching well in Triple-A, posting a 1.54 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 14/6 K/BB ratio across nine appearances. He will take Dinelson Lamet’s spot on the roster and isn’t fantasy relevant at this point in time.
