Free agent Eric Stout, who finished last season in China, is drawing interest from MLB and Asian clubs, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.
Stout, 30, has spent most of his career as a reliever, but he had a 3.28 ERA and a 79/13 K/BB in 68 2/3 innings over 12 starts after exiting the Mariners system and going to China last summer. The left-hander has served major league stints with the Royals, Pirates and Cubs, amassing a 7.30 ERA in 23 relief appearances.

Mariners signed LHP Eric Stout to a minor league contract.
Stout was released by the Cubs earlier this week and has quickly latched on with the Mariners. The 30-year-old left-hander made 20 relief appearances last year between the Reds and Pirates, compiling a serviceable 5.64 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 25/16 K/BB ratio across 22 1/3 innings. He gives Seattle some extra emergency relief depth at Triple-A Tacoma.

Cubs signed LHP Eric Stout to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 29-year-old southpaw elected free agency back in November rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Indianapolis. Stout registered a troublesome 5.63 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 25/16 K/BB ratio over 22 1/3 innings between the Cubs and Pirates during the 2022 campaign. He’ll need a very strong showing in the spring to crack the Cubs’ Opening Day bullpen.

Eric Stout has elected free agency.
The right-hander was sent outright to Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday, but he refused that assignment and will instead peddle his wares on the open market. The 29-year-old southpaw posted a 5.64 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 25/16 K/BB ratio across 22 1/3 innings between the Pirates and Cubs during the 2022 season. He’ll almost assuredly have to settle for a minor league deal with an invitation to big league camp.

Pirates placed LHP Eric Stout on the 15-day injured list with lower back discomfort.
The injury will end his season. Stout has posted a 5.64 ERA over 20 relief appearances in the majors this season.

Eric Stout will serve as the 29th man for the Pirates in Wednesday’s doubleheader versus the Mets.
He is a good bet to see action in the early tilt behind opener Duane Underwood Jr. Stout, 29, has posted a 4.67 ERA and 20/10 K/BB ratio in 17 1/3 major league innings this year between the Cubs and Bucs.

Eric Stout picked up his first save of the season after recording one out in Wednesday’s 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks.
The save really should have gone to Wil Crowe -- who entered to start the eighth -- in this one, but because Crowe ran into some trouble in the ninth, Stout was called in to record the final out of the contest. Which he did without drama, retiring Jordan Luplow on just one pitch. While Stout picked up the easy save on Wednesday, Crowe figures to continue to see the bulk of save opportunities so long as David Bednar (back) remains on the shelf.

Pirates recalled LHP Eric Stout from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Stout will jump into the Pittsburgh bullpen on Thursday afternoon against the Brewers as a replacement for Dillon Peters, who has landed on the 15-day injured list because of inflammation in his left elbow.
