  • FA Starting Pitcher #25
Elieser Hernández has signed a one-year, $440,000 contract with the LG Twins of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Hernández heads overseas in an attempt to rebuild his long-term value after being removed from Milwaukee’s 40-man roster last month. The 29-year-old right-hander, who is certainly going to benefit financially from the move to Korea, made nine appearances (one start) this season between the Brewers and Dodgers.
  • FA Starting Pitcher #25
    Elieser Hernandez elected free agency.
Hernandez refused his outright assignment to Triple-A Nashville after he was designated for assignment by the Brewers last Wednesday. The 29-year-old right-hander is now free to sign with another team, but he’s likely looking at a minor-league pact.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #25
Brewers sent RHP Elieser Hernández outright to Triple-A Nashville.
Hernández cleared waivers after being DFA’d last week. He has a 6.32 ERA in 15 2/3 innings for the Dodgers and Brewers this season.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #25
Brewers designated RHP Elieser Hernandez for assignment.
The 29-year-old hurler was signed to an MLB contract earlier this month, but he already finds himself on the outs after registering a solid 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 2/2 K/BB ratio over six innings with the ballclub. There’s a decent chance that he generates interest on waivers. Bradley Blalock was recalled from Double-A Biloxi in a corresponding move on Wednesday.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #52
Brewers signed RHP Elieser Hernández to a one-year contract.
Hernández bolsters Milwaukee’s relief depth in the majors after electing free agency earlier this week following his removal from the Dodgers’ 40-man roster. The 29-year-old righty made five appearances (one start) this season in the big leagues for Los Angeles.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #52
Dodgers sent RHP Elieser Hernández outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Hernández went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week and will presumably stick around with the Dodgers as extra organizational relief depth. The 29-year-old righty has made five appearances (one start) this season in the big leagues for Los Angeles.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #52
Dodgers designated RHP Elieser Hernández for assignment.
The Dodgers needed to clear a spot on the active roster for Evan Phillips’ return on Friday night and unfortunately Hernández was the odd-man out this time around. The 29-year-old hurler has posted an 8.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 6/3 K/BB ratio over 9 2/3 innings for the Dodgers this season. It’s likely that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra pitching depth for the Dodgers at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #57
Elieser Hernández allowed three runs with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Giants on Wednesday.
Hernández was solid in his first major league start since 2022, tossing a quality start in San Francisco. He surrendered a two-run homer to Mike Yastrzemski in the third inning, then gave up a run on a base hit and a double in the sixth. With no off days for another week, a second start could come next Tuesday against the Diamondbacks in Los Angeles. Otherwise, he’ll likely retreat to Triple-A to continue working as a starter.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #57
Dodgers selected the contract of RHP Elieser Hernández from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Hernández, 29, will add depth and length to the Dodgers’ bullpen as they’re rolling with a bullpen game against the Giants on Wednesday evening in San Francisco. He has posted a strong 2.83 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and a 34/8 K/BB ratio across 28 2/3 frames at Triple-A Oklahoma City to begin the season.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #91
Dodgers optioned LHP Matt Gage and INF Andre Lipcius to Triple-A Albuquerque; Re-assigned RHPs Kevin Gowdy and Elieser Hernández, C Dalton Rushing, INFs Trey Sweeney and Austin Gauthier, and OFs Drew Avans, Jose Ramos and Ryan Ward to minor league camp.
The Dodgers are narrowing down their roster sooner than most around the league as they’re opening the season against the Padres in South Korea. There were no huge surprises among this batch of cuts, though Gage could have potentially pushed for a spot in the club’s Opening Day bullpen — especially with Brusdar Graterol and Blake Treinen slowed by minor injuries.
