Adrianza

The move opens up a spot on Los Angeles’ 40-man roster. Adrianza has been on the injured list since mid-May due to back spasms.

The Angels already have Anthony Rendon, Luis Rengifo and Brandon Drury on the injured list, so why not place another infielder there for good measure. Luckily, Niko Goodrum arrived on Friday and will join the active roster to replace Adrianza.

The versatile 27-year-old has been under the weather for a couple of days, so skipper Ron Washington thought it was best to give him a night off. Brandon Drury returned to the Angels lineup to play second base on Saturday while Ehire Adrianza will cover third base and bat second for the Halos against Ben Lively and the Guardians.

The 31-year-old infielder is considered day-to-day for the time being. Luis Rengifo will cover second base while Ehire Adrianaza entered the lineup at third base and will bat eighth against Phillies’ right-hander Zack Wheeler.

Sanó will miss at least one more game while dealing with soreness in his left knee. Ehire Adrianza is getting the start at third base while Sanó gets better.

Drury and Luis Rengifo will get a night off against Baltimore to open the series. Ehire Adrianza gets the start at second base while Miguel Sano will handle the hot corner.

Adrianza is added to the roster after Anthony Rendon (hamstring) was once again placed on the injured list. Adrianza will provide some versatility off the bench, but isn’t a good enough offensive player to consider for fantasy even if he was to have a starting role.

Angels manager Ron Washington broke the news during his Friday media gaggle that Adrianza will be joining the Angels in a reserve utility role. The 34-year-old veteran infielder spent the last few years with the Braves in a versatile bench role.

The 34-year-old infielder was designated for assignment last week and passed through waivers unclaimed, but rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Gwinnett, Adrianza has opted to explore the open market. He went 0-for-10 with a 4/1 K/BB ratio in 11 plate appearances during his limited time with the Braves this season.

The 34-year-old infielder has been sidelined since early May due to a left shoulder strain. There’s a decent chance that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continues to function as extra infield depth for the Braves in the minor leagues. On the season, Adrianza has gone 0-for-10 with a 4/1 K/BB ratio over 11 plate appearances with the Braves.
