Eduardo Rodriguez pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings before being lifted from a tie game Saturday against the Padres.
Rodriguez allowed four hits, walked two and struck out three before the D-backs turned to the pen. The quick hook worked well initially, but A.J. Puk had a rare bad day and combined with Scott McGough to allow the game’s only five runs in the top of the ninth. Rodriguez ends his abbreviated season 3-4 with a 5.04 ERA in 10 starts. The Diamondbacks could still advance to the postseason, but they’ll need help.

Eduardo Rodriguez allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Giants on Monday.
Rodriguez gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out eight. He’s had seven, 11 and now eight strikeouts in his last three games. Unfortunately, the strikeouts have been the extent of his fantasy value this year. Rodriguez spent most of the season on the injured list, came back and won three of nine starts with a 5.56 ERA. He completed six innings once. It’s unclear if the Diamondbacks will use Rodriguez again this season with an eye towards the playoffs, though he lines up to pitch again on the last day of the regular season.

Eduardo Rodriguez fanned 11 while allowing two runs in 6 1/3 innings Wednesday in a win over the Rockies.
Rodriguez had no problems with Coors Field, turning in his highest strikeout total since 2019. He allowed hard-hit balls to just two of the 25 batters he faced, and it was simply unfortunate that four of the five singles he gave up came in a five-batter span in the third inning. Rodriguez is 3-3 with a 5.09 ERA. He’s currently slated to make two starts next week against the Giants and Padres, but that could change if the Diamondbacks clinch.

Eduardo Rodriguez allowed two runs in five innings and took the loss against the Brewers on Friday.
Rodriguez gave up five hits, walked three and struck out seven. He’s lost his last three starts and has only two wins in seven starts this season. Rodriguez actually pitched well enough to win this time, but Arizona supported him with just one run on the night. After a stellar 2023 season with the Tigers, he’s dealt with injury and hasn’t pitched well with the Diamondbacks this year. Rodriguez has a 5.50 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 34 1/3 innings this season. The 31-year-old left-hander is set to face the Rockies on the road next week.

Eduardo Rodríguez allowed five runs -- four earned -- over four innings in a no-decision against the Astros on Saturday.
Rodriguez dodged some trouble in the first two innings before Houston brought a run in to score on a groundout in the third. The Astros would get to him in the fourth. Two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases for Chas McCormick, who knocked a base hit to score two runs. A single, error, and a walk brought a fifth run in to score before Rodriguez could escape the inning. That would do it for the 31-year-old left-hander. He’ll take a 5.83 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and an 18/10 K/BB ratio across 29 1/3 innings into a start against the Brewers in Arizona next weekend.

Eduardo Rodriguez was pulled after giving up three runs in four innings Monday against the Dodgers.
Rodriguez’s 92 pitches produced just four missed swings and one strikeout today, and the Diamondbacks lost one of his outings for the first time in five starts since he came off the injured list. He’s 2-1 with a 5.33 ERA and a 17/7 K/BB ratio in 25 1/3 innings. This weekend’s matchup in Houston is another bad one for him.

Eduardo Rodríguez allowed five runs with five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Wednesday.
Rodríguez was off to an excellent start before things unraveled, tossing four perfect frames against the Mets. Things got away from him in the fifth. He allowed four runs in score in the frame, including a two-run homer by Harrison Bader. Rodríguez would leave the game in the sixth with a runner on base at 89 pitches. The inherited runner would come in to score. The 31-year-old left-hander will take a 5.06 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and a 16/5 K/BB ratio across 21 1/3 innings into a start against the Dodgers in Arizona on Monday.

Eduardo Rodriguez allowed one run on six hits in 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Marlins on Tuesday, striking out five and walking one.
The one run in 5 1/3 innings is good, but it also took Rodriguez 100 pitches to get those 16 outs and five of the six hits he allowed went for extra bases. He induced nine whiffs on 49 swings for an 18 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW in what was overall a solid if unspectacular performance. He has yet to pitch more than 5 2/3 innings so far in 2024 but considering he made no rehab starts before getting on the big league mound this year, it’s not a bad start. He’ll take a 3.94 ERA into a start against the Mets next week.

Eduardo Rodriguez allowed three runs in five innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Rockies.
Rodriguez got 11 missed swings tonight after producing just two in his Diamondbacks debut against the Guardians last week, so that’s a positive. He wound up allowing six hits, walking one and striking out five. He has an even easier assignment coming up next week against the Marlins, and while we don’t have total faith in him as a mixed-league option at this point, he should be worth playing then.

Eduardo Rodriguez won his season debut after allowing three runs in 5 2/3 innings in the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Guardians.
Rodriguez was far from dominant in giving up two homers and striking out one. His 65 pitches produced just two missed swings. His velocity wasn’t bad, so he’ll probably get better than this. Still, it might take a little while.
