Rangers optioned OF Dustin Harris and RHP Daniel Robert to Triple-A Round Rock.
Harris got into a pair of contests last year for Texas and will open the year back in the upper minos. The 25-year-old outfielder figures to get another opportunity at the highest level in short order given the durability concerns surrounding Adolis García.
  • TEX Left Fielder #38
Dustin Harris hit a two-run homer against the Brewers on Saturday.
It’s the first homer of the spring for Harris. The 25-year-is one of the better hitting prospects in the Texas system, but he’s almost assuredly going to open 2025 in Triple-A.
  • TEX Left Fielder #38
Dustin Harris went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in a 9-0 throttling of the Angels on Sunday.
That homer is the first for Harris in the majors. He hit well upon being promoted by the Rangers with a .333/.429/1.000 slash, but it’s worth pointing out that is only over two games and 6 at-bats. Still, a reminder that Harris has some offensive potential. He may need to leave Texas to fully reach it.
  • TEX Third Baseman #69
Rangers recalled OF Dustin Harris from Triple-A Round Rock.
Harris is coming up as part of a slew of roster moves by Texas. If he gets into a game, he’ll be making his major league debut. Harris isn’t in the starting lineup for Tuesday night’s game against the Athletics. He hit .272 with 10 home runs and 53 RBI with Triple-A this year.
  • TEX Third Baseman #67
Rangers optioned OF Dustin Harris to Triple-A Round Rock; Reassigned Cs Liam Hicks and Matt Whatley, INF Abimelec Ortez and OF Aaron Zavala to minor league camp.
Harris played in five spring games at camp going 3-for-10 with a double and two RBI. The 24-year-old had a chance to be the Rangers’ DH but will start his 2024 season at Triple-A Round Rock. Last season, he slashed .259/.378/.431 between Double and Triple-A.
  • TEX Third Baseman #67
Dustin Harris went 0-for-3 and struck out twice against the Royals on Saturday.
Harris is a sleeper pick to open up as the Rangers’ DH, should Wyatt Langford not make the team, but he’ll obviously need to be better than this. The 24-year-old hit .259/.378/.431 between Double- and Triple-A last year. He’s a solid prospect, but he’d have a better chance of cracking a lineup if he were on a lesser team.
  • TEX Left Fielder #38
Dustin Harris homered, doubled and walked twice in his Triple-A debut on Tuesday.
Harris, 23, could have opened this year in Triple-A after batting .257/.346/.471 in 85 games in Double-A last year, but the Rangers opted to leave him in Frisco initially and he was rather disappointing in hitting .245/.374/.406. A promotion came this week anyway, and it might have been just what he needed. Primarily a left fielder of late, Harris could get a shot in the majors in the second half if he produces. The Rangers are scoring plenty of runs, but they’re not exactly settled in left field or at DH.

  • TEX Left Fielder #32
Rangers reassigned OF Evan Carter, INF’s Luisangel Acuña and Dustin Harris, LHP Lucas Jacobsen and RHP’s Ricky Vanasco, Owen White, Cole Winn, Fernery Ozuna, Kyle Cody and Zak Kent to minor league camp.
Carter made some serious noise this spring in Rangers camp and was generating some buzz as a potential Opening Day roster candidate. The 20-year-old former second-round selection might have a shot at making his big league debut this season, if everything breaks right.

  • TEX Left Fielder #38
Rangers selected the contract of OF Dustin Harris from Double-A Frisco.
Harris hit .257/.346/.471 with 17 home runs and 19 stolen bases this past season at Double-A Frisco to earn a spot on the Rangers’ 40-man roster. The 23-year-old outfielder will be protected from selection in next month’s Rule 5 Draft.

  • BAL Shortstop #2
Gunnar Henderson is leading off for the American League in the 2022 All-Star Futures Game at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Henderson is regarded as one of the top prospects in the game and a potential building block for the Orioles franchise. Here’s the full AL lineup: Henderson (BAL) 3B, Jasson Domínguez (NYY) CF, Dustin Harris (TEX) 1B, Anthony Volpe (NYY) SS, Matt Wallner (MIN) RF, Yanier Diaz (HOU) DH, George Valera (CLE) LF, Curtis Mead (TB) 2B and Shea Langeliers (OAK) C.
