Giants signed RHP Drew Strotman to a minor league contract.
Strotman was cut loose earlier this month by the Astros following 29 relief appearances in the upper minors and will head to San Francisco, where he spent all of last year, as emergency relief depth. The 27-year-old righty has yet to reach the majors, but was a notable prospect a couple years ago for the Rays and Twins.
  • HOU Center Fielder #38
Astros optioned OF Trey Cabbage and INF David Hensley to Triple-A Sugar Land; reassigned RHPs Drew Strotman, Cole McDonald and Wander Suero to minor league camp.
It looks like Cabbage lost one of the bench battles during spring camp. The 26-year-old could not find consistency at the plate and as a result went 4-for-36 (.111 AVG) with 17 strikeouts. Strikeouts remain to be a issue for Cabbage as he struck out 46% of the time in his 56 plate appearances with the Angels last season.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #62
Astros signed RHP Drew Strotman to minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.
Strotman spent all of last season with the Giants’ Triple-A affiliate, registering a 6.32 ERA and a 63/36 K/BB ratio in 52 2/3 innings. The 26-year-old should just be organizational relief depth for the Astros.
  • NYM Shortstop #18
Giants reassigned INF’s Donovan Walton, Colton Welker and Brady Whalen, C’s Brett Cumberland and Andy Thomas, LHP’s Darien Núñez, Sean Newcomb and Daniel Tillo, RHP’s Ljay Newsome, Joe Ross and Drew Strotman to minor league camp.
Walton, who is likely to be sidelined until May as he continues his recovery from offseason shoulder surgery, is the most prominent of the Giants’ first round of cuts from spring training. Newcomb and Ross figure to be the most likely to contribute at some point for the Giants.

Giants re-signed RHP Drew Strotman to a minor league contract.
Strotman was non-tendered by the Giants earlier this month, shortly after being removed from San Francisco’s 40-man roster, but has opted to remain with the organization. The 26-year-old righty has bounced around on waivers over the last few months, but figures to remain in the Bay Area for the upcoming 2023 season.

    Giants non-tendered RHP Drew Strotman.
This was surely the plan from the moment the Giants claimed Strotman off waivers from the Rangers last week. They’ll offer him a minor league deal to stick around. If he declines, they really didn’t lose anything. The 26-year-old Strotman had a 6.32 ERA and a 63/36 K/BB ratio in 52 2/3 innings in Triple-A last season.

Giants designated RHP Drew Strotman for assignment.
Strotman was claimed off waivers earlier this month from the Rangers and is now off the Giants’ 40-man roster. The 26-year-old right-hander has yet to make his big league debut.

Giants claimed RHP Drew Strotman off of waivers from the Rangers.
The Rangers had claimed the 26-year-old hurler off of waivers from the Twins in mid-September. Strotman spent the entire 2022 season at Triple-A where he posted a cringe-inducing 6.32 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 63/36 K/BB ratio across 52 2/3 innings.

Rangers claimed RHP Drew Strotman off waivers from the Twins.
Stroman was designated for assignment last week by the Twins and quickly gobbled up off waivers by the rebuilding Rangers. The 26-year-old righty recorded a lackluster 6.44 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 58/33 K/BB ratio across 50 1/3 innings (39 appearances) this season for Triple-A St. Paul. He represents a long-term reclamation project for Texas.

Twins designated RHP Drew Strotman for assignment.
Strotman has been removed from the Twins’ 40-man roster to make room for outfield prospect Matt Wallner. The 26-year-old righty was acquired last year in the Nelson Cruz trade with the Rays and has yet to make his big-league debut.
