White Sox sent OF Dominic Fletcher outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Fletcher passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last week by the White Sox. The 27-year-old outfielder will stick around as extra organizational depth since he doesn’t have the option to elect free agency.

White Sox designated OF Dominic Fletcher for assignment.
At one point, Fletcher was through to be a contender to start in the outfield for the White Sox, but he lost out to veterans like Travis Jankowski and Austin Slater.

White Sox optioned OF Dominic Fletcher to Triple-A Charlotte.
Fletcher struggled in the Cactus League, and wasn’t a great bet for the roster even after Andrew Benintendi’s hand injury. Fletcher will likely be up-and-down throughout 2025.

Dominic Fletcher went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts versus the Reds on Friday.
The door is wide open for Fletcher to claim a spot in the White Sox outfield, but he’s just 4-for-30 this spring after hitting a miserable .206/.252/.256 in 241 major league plate appearances last season. He might be on his way to losing his spot on the 40-man.

Andrew Benintendi (hand) will miss 4-6 weeks after being diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture in his right hand.
Ouch. Benintendi was plunked on the hand during Thursday’s contest against the Guardians. The 30-year-old outfielder said he was sore after the game, but precautionary X-rays revealed the unfortunate diagnosis. It’s unclear how the White Sox will plan to replace Benintendi in the middle of their lineup to begin the season. The injury certainly opens the door for Oscar Colas, Dominic Fletcher, Joey Gallo or Corey Julks to crack the Opening Day roster with a strong showing in Cactus League play.

Dominic Fletcher has been moved into the leadoff spot for the White Sox in Friday’s game against the Padres.
Fletcher is batting .218/.267/.275 on the season and .186/.222/.279 this month, so it’s a rather odd move. We’re guessing it was more about wanting Luis Robert Jr. batting third; he’s been batting second since early August and not exactly excelling there. Nicky López, who usually leads off when in the lineup, is batting second tonight. Andrew Benintendi (fourth) and Andrew Vaughn (fifth) are also hitting one spot lower than usual.

Luis Robert Jr. is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Tigers.
Robert Jr. will get the finale off against the Tigers. Dominic Fletcher is starting in center and hitting seventh while Robert Jr. gets a rest.

According to Chicago Sports’ Vinnie Dubar, Dominic Fletcher will be the White Sox’s regular right fielder for the remainder of the season.
Fletcher was recalled from Triple-A after the trade deadline and is now “getting a consistent chance to be the Chicago White Sox’ right fielder — of both the present and future.” The 26-year-old is hitting just .209/.275/.255 in 41 games for the White Sox this season and was hitting just .263 with two home runs in 24 games at Triple-A this season. So far there is not much to success his skillset will provide fantasy upside.

White Sox recalled OF Dominic Fletcher from Triple-A Charlotte.
It’s unclear if this will just be a brief stint for Fletcher until Miguel Vargas joins the team or if he’ll get a longer look in the outfield. He hasn’t earned the latter, considering that he’s hit .243/.319/.355 in 28 minor league games ant .173/.254/.227 in 28 major league games this season.

White Sox activated OF Dominic Fletcher from the 10-day injured list; optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.
Fletcher will remain stationed in the minors after missing just over a month recovering from an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder. The 26-year-old outfielder holds a calamitous .480 OPS with zero homers and six RBI in 84 plate appearances over 28 games this season in the big leagues.
