Pirates signed OF Dominic Fletcher to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Fletcher first appeared on fantasy radars in 2023 with an intriguing debut with the Diamondbacks. He spent the last two years with the White Sox and failed to produce at the MLB level, but did hit .260/.317/.453 with 17 home runs and seven steals in 105 games at Triple-A. Perhaps the 28-year-old can emerge as a fourth outfielder in Pittsburgh.

Dominic Fletcher and Corey Julks declined outright assignments from the White Sox and are now free agents.
When the White Sox had the chance to acquire Fletcher or Jake McCarthy from the Diamondbacks for pitching prospect Christian Mena two years ago, they really ought to have said no and should have picked McCarthy had they said yes. Still, it’s hardly been a franchise killer, as Mena, while still potentially helpful, hasn’t progressed as hoped in Arizona. Fletcher hit .206/.252/.256 in 72 games for the White Sox in 2024 and then spent almost all of 2025 in Triple-A. Now 28, he might want to give Japan or Korea a try.

White Sox sent OFs Dominic Fletcher and Corey Julks and RHPs Elvis Peguero and Owen White to Triple-A Charlotte.
It’s merely offseason housekeeping for the White Sox. Fletcher and Julks are the prominent names here as the tandem figure to draw some interest as depth outfielders on the open market after they elect free agency. Peguero made only two appearances for Chicago after being claimed off waivers from the Brewers before suffering a season-ending elbow strain.

Dominic Fletcher went 2-for-4 with a double and belted his first home run of the season in a lopsided victory over the Nationals.
Fletcher tagged Nationals’ starter Brad Lord for a 380-foot (102.1 mph EV) two-run blast in the fourth inning that increased their advantage to 5-0. He also smacked a two-out double in the second inning. The 28-year-old outfielder finishes the season hitting .219/.265/.469 with one homer and two RBI in 34 plate appearances with the White Sox.
  • CWS Right Fielder #18
Mike Tauchman and Michael A. Taylor are both on the bench for a second straight game Tuesday against the Yankees.
Tauchman has been a mainstay against right-handers all year long and Taylor was playing most of the time with Luis Robert Jr. on the shelf, but it seems the White Sox have decided to take a look at younger players this last week of the season. They have Brooks Baldwin in center and Dominic Fletcher in right tonight. Notably, the prioritizing of younger players isn’t doing Curtis Mead any good; he’s started just one of the last six games.

White Sox selected the contract of OF Dominic Fletcher from Triple-A Charlotte.
Fletcher, who hit .206/.252/.256 in 72 games for the White Sox last season, is up for the first time in 2025. The 28-year-old outfielder hit .260/.317/.453 with mediocre exit velocity numbers in Triple-A. He just doesn’t seem like a major leaguer.
  • CWS Center Fielder #7
White Sox sent OF Dominic Fletcher outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Fletcher passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last week by the White Sox. The 27-year-old outfielder will stick around as extra organizational depth since he doesn’t have the option to elect free agency.

White Sox designated OF Dominic Fletcher for assignment.
At one point, Fletcher was through to be a contender to start in the outfield for the White Sox, but he lost out to veterans like Travis Jankowski and Austin Slater.
  • CWS Center Fielder #7
White Sox optioned OF Dominic Fletcher to Triple-A Charlotte.
Fletcher struggled in the Cactus League, and wasn’t a great bet for the roster even after Andrew Benintendi’s hand injury. Fletcher will likely be up-and-down throughout 2025.

Dominic Fletcher went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts versus the Reds on Friday.
The door is wide open for Fletcher to claim a spot in the White Sox outfield, but he’s just 4-for-30 this spring after hitting a miserable .206/.252/.256 in 241 major league plate appearances last season. He might be on his way to losing his spot on the 40-man.
