Angels optioned RHP Davis Daniel to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Daniel heads back to the minors after allowing four runs over five innings on Monday in a loss to the Blue Jays. The 27-year-old right-hander has struggled his last couple times out since a stellar season debut back in late June. At this point, he’s not a recommended fantasy option.

Davis Daniel surrendered four runs in five innings Monday in a loss to the Blue Jays.
Daniel won his first start back in June, but he’s 0-4 since, having allowed 21 earned runs over 22 1/3 innings in the process. He might lose his spot after this one.

Jack Kochanowicz will start for the Angels in Sunday’s series finale against the Nationals.
The Angels had planned on rolling out Davis Daniel on only three days of rest, but instead Kochanowicz will take the hill. He has been hit very hard in his first two big-league starts and isn’t a recommended streaming option on Sunday, even against the Natinoals.

Angels’ manager Ron Washington told reporters that Davis Daniel will start on Sunday against the Nationals.
The 27-year-old right-hander just pitched on Wednesday where he gave us five runs over 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Yankees. Since he had a limited pitch count in that one though, the Halos are comfortable bringing him back on only three days’ rest. He should still be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Davis Daniel was torched for five runs over 3 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Yankees.
Daniel took the ball for the front end of Wednesday’s twin bill at Yankee Stadium and was immediately tagged for a pair of runs in the opening frame before serving up a second-inning solo shot to Oswaldo Cabrera. He was charged with two additional runs in the fourth inning before being lifted. The 27-year-old righty looked like he was going to have some success at the highest level a couple weeks ago, but has really struggled of late, allowing five runs or more in three of his last four starts since July 3.

Tuesday’s game between the Angels and Yankees has been postponed due to inclement weather.
It’ll be made up on Wednesday as a doubleheader. Tuesday’s original starters -- Davis Daniel and Luis Gil -- will presumably take the ball at some point during Wednesday’s twin bill.

Davis Daniel allowed five hits and one run across five innings on Wednesday against the Rockies. He struck out five and walked one in a no-decision.
Daniel was solid in his return to the big leagues. He consistently dotted his slider against right-handed batters and pounded the zone with his fastball all night. This version of Daniel looked like a capable major league starter and he should have plenty of chances to stick in the Angels’ rotation through the second half of the season.

Angels recalled RHP Davis Daniel from Triple-A Salt Lake.
He’ll take the place of left-hander Kenny Rosenberg on the team’s active roster after the southpaw was optioned back to Triple-A on Friday. Daniel has made three starts for the Angels so far this season, posting a 5.82 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 14/1 K/BB ratio over 17 innings. It’s unclear if he’s going to jump back into the Angels’ rotation or if he’ll function as depth as a long man out of the bullpen.

Angels optioned RHP Davis Daniel to Triple-A Salt Lake.
The 27-year-old hurler was clobbered for seven runs over 3 2/3 innings in Monday’s loss to the Rangers and now he’ll head back to the Triple-A level to refine his craft. Jack Kochanowicz will be promoted from Double-A Rocket City to hop into the Angels’ rotation on Thursday against the Mariners.

Davis Daniel was lit up for seven runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Rangers in Monday’s loss.
Daniel didn’t have much luck tonight in giving up eight hits on 15 balls in play in spite of an average exit velocity against of 86.8 mph. He also had a fine 33% CSW and walked none. The Angels will likely stick with him and start him against the Mariners this weekend, but they could make a change after the break if he’s not more successful then.
