Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins told reporters it could be unrealistic to expect Daulton Varsho (shoulder) to be ready for Opening Day.
Atkins added that Varsho isn’t necessarily behind schedule in his recovery from late September shoulder surgery, but it doesn’t appear that he’ll be a full-go at the outset of spring training as originally expected. There should be some clarity on his status once we get closer to the spring, but fantasy managers should anticipate Varsho missing at least some time in the early stages of the year.

Blue Jays General Manager Ross Atkins said that Daulton Varsho (shoulder) “could be a little bit behind” Opening Day in 2025.
Varsho had rotator cuff surgery at the end of the season and there was always an expectation that he would miss some time in 2025 but that now seems all but assured. With Kevin Kiermaier also retiring, the Blue Jays are currently without an option in center field until Varsho is healthy enough to take the field.

Andrés Giménez was named as the Rawlings’ Gold Glove Award winner at second base in the American League, marking the third time that the defensive wizard has received the honor.
Giménez is widely known as one of the best defenders in all of baseball and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him also add a Platinum Glove to his mantle before all is said and done. Here’s the full list of Gold Glove winners in the American League (along with how many times they have won the award): C: Cal Raleigh (1), 1B: Carlos Santana (1), 2B: Andres Gimenez (3), SS: Bobby Witt Jr. (1), 3B Alex Bregman (1), P: Seth Lugo (1), LF: Steven Kwan (3), CF: Daulton Varsho (1), RF: Wilyer Abreu (1), UT: Dylan Moore (1).

Blue Jays transferred OF Daulton Varsho from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injust list.
Varsho is now off the 40-man roster. This creates room for Orelvis Martinez, who needed to come off the suspended list. Varsho, obviously, is done for the rest of 2024 after hitting .214 with 18 homers and 58 RBI.

Daulton Varsho will have rotator cuff surgery on his right shoulder, according to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com.
Varsho was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, but it’s obvious now that he’s out for the season. The Blue Jays will have a clearer timeline after the surgery is performed, but manager John Schneider says the recovery could stretch into the 2025 season. Varsho was one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball this season, but struggled at the plate. The injury and potentially lengthy timeline for recovery further complicate his 2025 fantasy prospects.

Blue Jays placed OF Daulton Varsho on the 10-day injured list retroactive to September 14th with a right shoulder strain.
With the Blue Jays out of contention, it’s a no-brainer for Varsho to hit the injured list after missing Sunday’s game with shoulder soreness. The 28-year-old hit .214 with 18 home runs and 58 RBI this year.

Daulton Varsho is out of the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals with shoulder soreness.
Varsho didn’t leave with a shoulder injury recently, so it’s a new injury for the 28-year-old. The Blue Jays will likely be cautious with Varsho the rest of the year as the team isn’t close to contention. With he and Joey Loperfido (adductor) out, it’s Nathan Lukes in center for the series finale with St. Louis.

After knocking his third hit in the ninth, he scored once again on a home run by Guerrero Jr. The 28-year-old outfielder is slashing .208/.294/.408 with 15 homers, 59 runs scored, 51 RBI, and 10 steals across 423 plate appearances.

Daulton Varsho went 2-for-3 with a solo home run on Sunday against the Athletics.
Varsho has begun to show some signs of life with a hit in seven of his past nine games. This was also his fourth straight game hitting in the two-hole as the Blue Jays are showing more confidence in him. There’s still some talent in this bar besides his ugly .207/.292/.695 slash line.
