Dansby Swanson hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs in a 9-2 rout of the Athletics on Monday.
Swanson belted his homer with a couple runners on in the second inning to give the Cubs a 6-0 lead. He drove in his fourth run and 62nd of the season with a single an inning later. It’s a nice game but a little too late in terms of making fantasy managers happy with Swanson, as there just haven’t been enough of them in 2024. September has been nice, however, as he now has an .830 OPS for the month.

Dansby Swanson homered and drove in three runs in a blowout win over the Pirates on Wednesday.
Swanson was one of three Cubs to have three hits as well in this contest along with Nico Hoerner and Pete Crow-Armstrong. His homer gives him 14 on the season, and that two-run shot along with an RBI double bring that total to 58. Swanson hasn’t shown much consistency with the bat, but he’s on a nice little run right now to up his OPS to .703.

Dansby Swanson went 4-for-6 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI against the Nationals on Sunday.
Swanson’s 37-for-126 (.293) with three home runs, 23 runs scored, 23 RBI and 10 steals in his last 36 games. That’s more like it. It’s too late to save his season. Swanson is hitting just .234 on the year now, but he’s inspiring some hope that he could be a late round sleeper next year.

Dansby Swanson went 1-for-2 with a homer and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Pirates.
It was a strong night at the plate for Swanson, who also drew two walks in this one. Swanson’s homer, his 12th of the season, came in the fourth inning to put the finishing touch on a five-run frame for the Cubbies. Swanson is hitting just .229 on the year, but is slashing a solid .270/.337.432 in the month of August with seven extra-base hits.

Dansby Swanson clubbed a grand slam on Monday in a blowout win over the Pirates.
Swanson’s sixth-inning grand slam off Pirates reliever Domingo Germán gave Chicago a commanding 11-2 lead at the time and ostensibly blew the doors off this one-sided affair at PNC Park. It was his 11th big fly of the season and just his second time going deep since last month’s All-Star break.

Dansby Swanson went 3-for-4 with a triple and one RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Twins.
Swanson tripled in the sixth inning to push the Cubs’ lead to 5-2 and scored on a wild pitch moments later. Swanson has now tallied hits in three straight games and is 8-for-19 at the plate in six games during the month of August. He’s hitting just .230 on the year while slugging .300. We wouldn’t expect this hot streak to continue for much longer.

Dansby Swanson went 1-for-3 against the Twins on Monday.
Swanson is having the worst season of his career and there are no signs that he’s going to turn it around in the final two months of the season. He made the All-Star game each of the past two years, but has fallen off a cliff this year. Swanson is hitting .224 with a .644 OPS and 35 RBI on the year.

Nico Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a double in Tuesday’s loss to the Brewers.
Hoerner and shortstop Dansby Swanson were responsible for four of the seven hits the Cubs strung together on the evening. Unfortunately, none of those hits resulted in runs, as the Cubs spent the evening being stifled by Colin Rea and the Brewers’ bullpen. Hoerner has now hit safely in three-straight games and has two doubles over that span. He’s hitting .296 in the month of July and continues to be a run-scoring machine for the Cubbies – with the exception of tonight’s shutout loss.

Dansby Swanson went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and three RBI on Wednesday, leading the Cubs to a 6-5 victory over the Giants.
Swanson went back-to-back with Ian Happ in the fourth inning and also added a pivotal two-run single in the seventh inning, which wound up being just enough for Chicago to edge San Francisco. The 30-year-old shortstop has homered in back-to-back games after going without a round-tripper since June 7.

Dansby Swanson hit a two-run homer on Tuesday, leading the Cubs to a 5-2 victory over the Giants.
Swanson kicked off the scoring in this one with a two-run blast off Giants ace Logan Webb in the second inning. It was his seventh long ball of the year, but third time he’s gone deep since June 1. He’s batting just .192 (20-for-104) with four homers and one steal over his last 30 games.
