White Sox sent INF Danny Mendick outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Mendick predictably went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week and will remain with Chicago as extra organizational depth. The 30-year-old has been bypassed by some of the younger talent that the White Sox want to give an opportunity to over the final few months of the year.

White Sox designated INF Danny Mendick for assignment.
Mendick has been jettisoned from Chicago’s active roster to make room for newly-signed infielder Nick Senzel. The 30-year-old signed a minor league deal with the White Sox back in February and wound up hitting .197/.243/.318 with three homers and six steals across 141 plate appearances in 47 games.
  • CWS Shortstop #29
Paul Dejong is not in the lineup for the White Sox on Thursday against the Astros.
Dejong will take a seat with Nicky Lopez sliding over to shortstop and Danny Mendick playing second base. The veteran is having a great month of June, hitting .246 with six home runs, nine runs, and 11 RBI in 17 games. The power is obviously really nice, but the poor team context around him is keeping his counting stats a little low given his home run total. He has also never hit for a high batting average and is still under .250 even with the power, so he’s really just an add if you’re looking for home runs from your middle infield spot.

Danny Mendick had a solo home run in his only at-bat in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.
Mendick’s hit was the only hit of the game for the White Sox. He batted for Nicky Lopez in the eighth inning and took reliever Danny Coulombe 401-feet deep for a home run that left the bat at 108.1 mph. Still, Mendick is a part-time player on the worst team in baseball and should not really be a consideration for fantasy leagues.

Danny Mendick is making his fourth straight start at third base on Monday against the Blue Jays.
The 30-year-old has come off the IL and immediately stepped into an everyday role, which is interesting since he’s slashing .224/.255/.367 with a 27.5 percent strikeout rate in 13 games this season. It’s a lost season for the White Sox and Mendick is not on fantasy radars.

White Sox activated INF/OF Danny Mendick from the 10-day injured list.
The versatile 30-year-old will rejoin the White Sox’ roster with Bryan Ramos (quad) heading to the injured list on Friday. In his limited action with the big league club this season, Mendick has hit .256/.293/.410 with one homer, three RBI and one stolen base in just 39 at-bats. He can continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes.

White Sox placed INF Danny Mendick on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 2, with lower back tightness.
Mendick will be out for at least a week while recovering. The White Sox have recalled INF Bryan Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte to take Mendick’s place on the active roster.

White Sox recalled INF Bryan Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte.
Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun Times reports that the corresponding transaction will be placing infielder Danny Mendick on the injured list with a back injury. Ramos has struggled in Double-A with a .572 OPS over 98 at-bats, and he isn’t a recommended fantasy addition in redraft leagues.

Danny Mendick went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the White Sox’ loss to the Twins.
Mendick blasted his first homer of the season into left field to score Andrew Benintendi and give the White Sox a 4-2 lead. It was a rare, brief display of power from Mendick, who entered the day with 11 career home runs in seven seasons. He’s riding a three-game hit streak but can be left on waivers at this time.

White Sox selected the contract of INF Danny Mendick from Triple-A Charlotte.
Mendick, 30, will provide some infield depth for the White Sox while he’s on the roster. There’s no chance for fantasy significance in his role.
