White Sox released RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon.
Ponce de Leon signed a minor league contract with the White Sox back in April and has been cut loose after struggling to an inflated 9.99 ERA, 2.51 WHIP and 19/24 K/BB ratio across 24 1/3 innings (eight appearances, seven starts). The 31-year-old righty hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2021 campaign.

White Sox signed RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon to a minor league contract.
Ponce de Leon hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2021 campaign. The 31-year-old righty split last season at the Triple-A level between the Mariners, Nationals and Tigers. He’ll provide the White Sox with some emergency organizational starting pitching depth.

Tigers signed RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon to a minor league contract.
The right-hander was cut loose by the Nationals last week after struggling through seven starts at Triple-A Rochester. He’ll see if he can turn things around in the Tigers organization. The 30-year-old owns a 4.33 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 152/81 K/BB ratio over 147 2/3 innings in his career at the big league level.

Nationals released RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon.
Ponce de Leon signed a minor league contract with the Nationals back in late July and has been jettisoned after making seven unremarkable starts for Triple-A Rochester. The 30-year-old righty, who also spent time at Triple-A Tacoma earlier this year in the Mariners’ system, hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2021 campaign.

Nationals signed RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon to a minor league contract.
Ponce de Leon was released by the Mariners earlier this month after holding a 7.95 ERA with their Triple-A Tacoma affiliate. He’ll give the Nats some starting depth in the minors and would seem to have a decent shot at a promotion before long, perhaps after the trade deadline.

Daniel Ponce de Leon opted out of his minor league contract with the Mariners.
Ponce de Leon signed a minor league contract with the Mariners back in early April and has been released after recording an uninspiring 7.95 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 80/42 K/BB ratio across 71 1/3 innings (16 appearances) for Triple-A Tacoma. The 30-year-old righty made 24 appearances (two starts) last year for the Cardinals and has made 57 appearances in the majors since 2018. Ponce de Leon is now free to explore other options. Pun intended.

Mariners signed RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon to a minor league contract.
The right-hander was released by the Angels after not making the big league club out of spring training. Ponce de Leon provides depth for the Seattle pitching staff, and will have to really pitch well in Tacoma to have any shot of making starts for the Mariners in 2022.

Angels released RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon.
Ponce de Leon wasn’t able to land a spot on the Angels’ Opening Day roster this spring and will head back out to test the free agent waters again.

Angels optioned RHP Elvis Peguero, LHP Jhonathan Diaz and 3B Brendon Davis to Triple-A Salt Lake; reassigned RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon, INF Kean Wong, RHP’s Davis Daniel and Luis Ledo, SS Jacob Gatewood and OF Dillon Thomas to minor league camp.
No real surprises among the first round of cuts from Angels’ big-league camp. Perhaps the most notable inclusion is Ponce de Leon, who was vying for a spot in Los Angeles’s Opening Day rotation.

Daniel Ponce de Leon gave up a run in two innings of work in his Cactus League debut on Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
Ponce de Leon, 30, allowed one hit -- a solo homer to David Peralta -- and he walked two. The former Cardinals starter was signed to a minor league contract in January, and will need to pitch well in Cactus League action in order to make the club. This is probably an inauspicious beginning to that battle.
