Dane Myers remains out of the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Nationals.
Myers hasn’t made an appearance for Miami since making a sublime game-ending catch to seal Wednesday’s victory over the division-rival Mets. It’s unclear whether he’s dealing with a specific injury concern, but it’s notable that he’s been left off the lineup card for three consecutive games. It’ll be Derek Hill in center field for Sunday’s game at loanDepot park.

Derek hill (back) is out of the lineup again Friday against Atlanta.
This makes three straight missed games for Hill, as he’s been able to get into the lineup due to tightness in his back. He’ll sit at least one more game with Dane Myers getting the start in center while Hill recovers.

Derek Hill is sitting Tuesday for the first time in the Marlins’ six games this season.
Dane Myers, who started versus lefties the previous three days, gets his first start against a righty tonight. Hill is 5-for-18 with a couple of doubles, but the strikeouts are already starting to pile up for him. He has eight in 22 plate appearances, putting him at a 36 percent rate, which is higher than his troubling career mark of 30 percent.

Dane Myers went 3-for-6 with two doubles, two runs scored, and the game-winning RBI to lead the Marlins to a 5-4 win over the Pirates in extra-innings on Saturday.
Myers started the game with a pair of doubles and a run scored before going to extra-inning against the Pirates. He started the tenth as the runner on second and scored the tying run to extend the game. The 29-year-old outfielder delivered in the 12th, knocking a deep hit to right field to walk it off.

Dane Myers delivered his first homer of the spring, a two-run shot off the Mets’ Paul Blackburn, in Monday’s loss.
Myers is hitting .281/.410/.375, compared to .250/.372/.444 for Derek Hill. Those two were competing for the starting job in center field in Miami, but with Jesús Sánchez out, they could be in the lineup at the same time frequently during April. Myers has at least probably sewn up a roster spot. Hill is out of options and was pretty much assured of a place going in, but Myers, with one option year left, didn’t have that luxury.

Jesús Sánchez has been diagnosed with a Grad 1 left oblique strain and will miss four weeks.
Not great. Sánchez suffered the oblique injury during Thursday’s spring contest against the Braves and will require a trip to the injured list at the outset of the regular season. His absence likely leads to a starting role for Dane Myers in right field for a couple weeks. The 27-year-old slugging corner outfielder put together the strongest year of his career last season when he posted 18 homers and 16 steals in 149 contests. Barring any setbacks, which isn’t a given with oblique issues, he should return by mid-to-late April.

Dane Myers went 2-for-4 with a home run, double, and five RBI to lead the Marlins to an 8-1 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Myers doubled to drive in two runs for the Marlins in the sixth inning. He further extended the lead in the eighth with a three-run blast off Génesis Cabrera for his fifth RBI on the day. The 28-year-old outfielder has made the most of his opportunities this season, hitting .264/.337/.451 with three homers, 19 RBI, and four steals across 104 plate appearances.

Marlins are expected to activate Dane Myers (ankle) from the IL on Tuesday.
Myers has been on the IL since July 18th with a fractured left tackle. The 28-year-old outfielder had been productive in 2024, slashing .265/.337/.422 with two homers, 14 RBI, and four stolen bases in just 95 plate appearances. There are just six games left in the season, and there is no indication of whether or not Myers will return to a starting role.

Marlins transferred Dane Myers from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
It’s just a procedural move that clears a spot on the 40-man roster. Myers can return from his fractured ankle on September 15, and that’s right around the timetable for his injury. There’s no guarantee that he’ll be back in 2024, however.

Marlins placed OF Dane Myers on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 15, with a left ankle fracture.
Myers is expected to miss 6-8 weeks after suffering a fractured left ankle last Saturday when he kicked the clubhouse door. It’ll go down as one of the more bizarre injuries of the entire season and it’s a significant loss for Miami as he likely would’ve been in line for expanded playing time following the trade deadline. He won’t be back until at least late August or early September, barring any setbacks.
