Miceli will be ready to pitch again once he works his way back into game shape.

Miceli is taking antibiotics and eyedrops.

Miceli would have gotten a major league contract had he elected to stay in the U.S., but he probably wouldn’t have earned much more than half that amount. The 34-year-old right-hander had a 3.59 ERA in 74 relief appearances for the Astros last season.

Miceli is unlikely to get another job in the majors.

Miceli might miss another game today, but he should be ready for Thursday.

He’ll have an MRI on Monday after being hit by a line drive off the bat of Michael Tucker in San Francisco on Thursday. It was swollen and sore the next morning, and he’s day-to-day right now. If he goes on the DL, Sun-Woo Kim, claimed off waivers by the Rockies from Washington, would likely take his place in the rotation. Kim will start with Byung-Hyun Kim in a doubleheader on Monday, marking the first time a team has started two Koreans in a doubleheader.

He’s on the 15-day disabled list with a bone bruise in his left foot which was caused by it being struck by a line drive on Thursday.

The move opens up a roster spot for Sun Woo Kim, who is starting the first game of today’s doubleheader.

There’s a good chance his season is over. Miceli was injured when he was hit on the foot with a line drive against San Francisco on Aug. 4.

This officially puts him out for the year. He has multiple stress fractures in his left foot.
