Christopher Sánchez held the Giants to just one run over seven strong innings, but he didn’t pick up a decision Monday.
Sánchez deserved better, but his offense and bullpen clearly didn’t agree. He received just a single run of support, and Orion Kerkering gave up a pair of runs to waste this effort. Sánchez was able to strike out eight, and remains one of the best left-handers in the National League with a 2.59 ERA. He’ll start the final game of the first half for Philadelphia on Sunday against the Padres, and maybe Philadelphia will finally score some runs for him. The Phillies have gone just 4-3 in Sánchez’s last seven starts despite him allowing only nine runs in 48 innings over that span.

Christopher Sánchez completed seven innings and allowed just one run to beat the Padres in the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.
Sánchez is going to have to be an All-Star. He’s allowed exactly one run in his last three starts and hasn’t given up more than two runs in any of his last seven outings. This was also a fourth straight start in which he did not walk a single batter. He’s 7-2 with a 2.68 ERA and a 108/28 K/BB in 100 2/3 innings, and he’s slated to face the Giants next week.

Tuesday’s game between the Padres and Phillies was postponed due to rain and will be played as part of a doubleheader Wednesday.
The teams both have Thursday off, but they’ll try to get in two tomorrow, with the games scheduled to start at 1:05 and 6:15 p.m. Nick Pivetta and Chrisopher Sánchez were the scheduled starters tonight. They’ll both surely go tomorrow.

Cristopher Sánchez fanned 11 while pitching six innings of one-run ball Thursday against the Astros.
Sánchez missed his career high in strikeouts by one and went without a walk for a third straight start. He’s allowed seven runs in 34 innings over five starts this month, taking his season ERA down to 2.79. He’s 14th in the majors in that category and 15th with 103 strikeouts. Next up for him is a start against the Padres on Tuesday.

Cristopher Sánchez was terrific in Thursday night’s victory over the Marlins, scattering just five hits over eight innings of one-run baseball.
The 28-year-old southpaw struck out four batters on the evening and did not allow a base on balls. The only damage done against him came in the fifth inning as Dane Myers smacked a leadoff double, took third on a ground out and scored on a two-out infield single off the bat of Nick Fortes. Sanchez dominated the remainder of the night. He got 11 whiffs on 91 pitches in the ballgame — 10 of them on his changeup — while posting a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll look to replicate this impressive performance when he carries a 2.87 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and a 92/28 K/BB ratio (87 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s battle against the Astros in Houston.

Cristopher Sánchez allowed two runs with five strikeouts over seven innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Sánchez gave up a run in the second inning on a double and a base hit. The Blue Jays brought a second run in to score on a hit batter and a double in the fifth. Sánchez would toss two more scoreless innings, ending his day with just the two runs allowed and five strikeouts over seven. The 28-year-old left-hander will take a 3.05 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and an 88/28 K/BB ratio across 79 2/3 innings into a start against the Marlins in Miami on Thursday.

Cristopher Sánchez allowed two runs on six hits in seven innings in a loss to the Pirates on Sunday.
The Phillies offense couldn’t muster anything against Paul Skenes, so Sánchez went back out for the eighth inning in a 1-1 game and promptly walked Oneil Cruz to lead off the inning. Cruz then stole second and scored on a single to saddle Sánchez with the loss. The left-hander struck out nine and walked two on the day. He now has a 3.10 ERA on the year.

Cristopher Sánchez pitched six innings of one-run ball in defeating the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
Sánchez, who entered with a 70/22 K/BB in 59 2/3 innings, both struck out and walked four tonight. Still, it was a strong result anyway, and he moved to 5-1 with a 3.15 ERA. Likely next up for him is a showdown against Paul Skenes, and we know the Pirates won’t be scoring any runs then.

Cristopher Sánchez allowed two runs while striking out six and working 5 2/3 innings to get a win over Atlanta in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Thursday.
Sánchez allowed five hits, and he issued a paid of walks. The southpaw blanked the Atlanta lineup over five innings, but gave up a pair of run-scoring singles in the sixth before exiting. He has allowed more than three runs in just one of his 10 starts, which helps explain a very solid 3.17 ERA over 59 2/3 innings. Sánchez will get Toronto next week if the rotation order doesn’t change.

Cristopher Sánchez allowed three runs — two earned with — six strikeouts in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Saturday.
Sánchez clearly didn’t have his best command in this one, as he issued three walks and threw just 49-of-83 pitches for strikes before exiting. He was able to limit the damage to just the three runs thanks in large part to the punchouts, but this was a mediocre effort from the southpaw, at best. Sánchez still has a 3.17 ERA and will get a chance to bounce back against Milwaukee next weekend.
