Corey Seager (abdomen) is close to being cleared for baseball activities.
Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young told reporters Seager, who underwent core muscle surgery back in mid-September to address a sports hernia, is expected to be ready for spring training without any limitations. It’s an extremely positive development for fantasy managers as the 30-year-old four-category stalwart should enter 2025 as a slam-dunk top eight shortstop following three consecutive 30-homer campaigns.

Rangers transferred SS Corey Seager from the 10-day to the 60-day injured list.
The Rangers are getting their $37 million-per-year starting pitcher back from the 60-day IL today but replacing him there is the $32.5 million-per-year shortstop. Seager is out for the season after deciding to undergo sports hernia surgery.

Corey Seager will have season-ending surgery on Friday for a sports hernia.
Seager was already on the injured list with hip discomfort, but after meeting with doctors it was determined that he has a sports hernia for the second time. The surgery will keep Seager out for the rest of the year. He hit .278 with 30 home runs, 68 runs scored, 74 RBI and one stolen base. Seager has hit at least 30 home runs and made the All-Star team in each of the last three years.

Rangers placed SS Corey Seager on the 10-day injured list with a hip injury.
Well, that’s one way to answer the question about what “load management” means. Seager will be out at least a week-plus while recovering from the hip trouble, and there’s at least a chance the shortstop won’t play again in 2024 with the Rangers not really in contention. Sandro Fabian has replaced Seager on the active roster.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Corey Seager will have his workload managed for the rest of the season.
Bochy added Seager isn’t 100 percent at this stage of the season, which isn’t a surprise. While he didn’t elaborate on a specific plan moving forward, we’re fully anticipating the 30-year-old fantasy superstar getting some additional maintenance days off down the home stretch, especially with the Rangers fading from postseason contention. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers heading towards the playoffs as they’ll likely be without one of their main contributors at key moments. Our best advice here for fantasy purposes involves rostering an additional viable shortstop, just in case, to fill in down the home stretch as needed.

Corey Seager is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Yankees.
It appears to be a routine off day for the fantasy superstar as the Rangers attempt to keep him fresh down the home stretch. It’ll be Jonathan Ornelas taking a turn at shortstop on Tuesday evening with lefty Carlos Rodón toeing the rubber for New York.

Corey Seager hit a solo homer to help the Rangers to a 2-1 win Thursday over the White Sox.
Seager’s homer was the only run the Rangers scored off Nick Nastrini, but it was enough for Nastrini to pick up the loss with Nathan Eovaldi blanking the White Sox for seven frames. The 30-year-old now has 30 homers on the season with 74 RBI, and 11 of those homers have come in the month of August.

Corey Seager went 2-for-5 with an RBI on Wednesday, lifting the Rangers to a 3-1 win over the White Sox.
Seager followed teammate Marcus Semien’s go-ahead double in the seventh inning by plating a key insurance run with a 102.6 mph single to right field. The 30-year-old fantasy superstar has remained as consistent as ever, when healthy, this season, batting .272/.350/.501 with 66 runs scored, 29 homers, 72 RBI and one stolen base through 118 contests.

Corey Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Sunday against the Guardians.
This was a game to forget for the Rangers offense. Seager’s deep fly was one of just two extra-base hits and the only other one, a double by Jonah Heim, bounced off Guardians’ center fielder Lane Thomas’ glove. Despite the poor game and season for Texas’ offense, Seager has still gotten his numbers. The homer was his 29th in 117 games to go along with 71 RBI and an .852 OPS.

Corey Seager went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBI on Friday night, propelling the Rangers to a 5-3 victory over the Guardians in Cleveland.
Seager lined a two-run double into right field off of Tanner Bibee in the second inning, increasing the Rangers’ early advantage to 4-0. That would be all the run support that Nathan Eovaldi and company would require in this one. With his two-hit evening, the 30-year-old shortstop is now slashing .273/.353/.502 to go along with 28 homers, 70 RBI and one stolen base in 115 games on the season.
