White Sox sent OF Corey Julks outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Julks went unclaimed after being designated for assignment. The 28-year-old outfielder hit just .214/.275/.306 in 2024 for Chicago last year, so it’s not a surprise other clubs didn’t have interest in adding him to their respective 40-man rosters.

White Sox designated OF Corey Julks for assignment.
Julks hit .214/.275/.306 with the White Sox in his limited action. The 28-year-old will hit the waiver wire, and it makes room for Cam Booser after the White Sox acquired Booser in a trade with the Red Sox.

White Sox optioned OF Corey Julks to Triple-A Charlotte.
Julks was hitting .214/.275/.306 in 189 plate appearances while mostly playing versus southpaws. The White Sox are keeping all of their infielders with Yoán Moncada back, so we imagine that means Miguel Vargas will take over as the left fielder against lefties.

Andrew Benintendi is not in the White Sox starting lineup on Thursday against the Braves.
With the Braves starting left-hander Chris Sale, the White Sox will turn to Corey Julks in left field over Benintendi. This is now the second straight left-handed pitcher that Benintendi has sat against, and it seems like he’s becoming a part-time player. It makes sense considering he’s hitting .199/.245/.308 in 237 plate appearances this season.

Corey Julks went 2-for-4 with a solo homer against the Cubs on Wednesday.
Julks started in left field and hit leadoff on Wednesday. He started the game with a solo homer off Jameson Taillon in the first inning to put the White Sox on the board. He later added a base hit in the third and a walk in the eighth. The 28-year-old outfielder is hitting .315/.393/.519 with two homers and two steals over 61 plate appearances. He appears poised to hit leadoff for Chicago on a regular basis while Tommy Pham (ankle) is on the injured list.

White Sox placed DH Eloy Jiménez on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring.
So many leg injuries. Jiménez’s numbers aren’t great or even very good, but from an xwOBA perspective, he had really picked it up in recent weeks, and Statcast though he should have been slugging .465, rather than his current .381. The White Sox will put Gavin Sheets at DH while Jiménez is out, which at least will improve the defense. Corey Julks, Dominic Fletcher and Zach DeLoach will battle for at-bats in right.

Corey Julks went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a steal in Tuesday’s win over the Blue Jays.
Julks laced a two-RBI single in the fifth inning off Yusei Kikuchi to give the White Sox a 3-0 lead, and has now hit safely in three of his first four games this season. Julks was called up from Triple-A Charlotte last week after the White Sox acquired him in a trade just days before. Julks has now homered and driven in three runs, and should continue getting opportunities as long as he stays hot.

Corey Julks went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk versus the Yankees on Sunday.
Julks isn’t a major league regular, but that’s not really the standard on the White Sox right now, not with Andrew Benintendi looking worse than ever and Gavin Sheets’ defense in right negating his maybe somewhat improved offense. He’ll probably play mostly against lefties, but it’s not like there’d be any harm in starting him against righties, too.

Andrew Benintendi is not in the starting lineup against the Yankees on Sunday.
Benintendi and Gavin Sheets will both take a seat against southpaw Carlos Rodon on Sunday. While they rest, the White Sox will deploy Corey Julks in left field and Zack Remillard at second base.

White Sox recalled OF Corey Julks from Triple-A Charlotte.
The 28-year-old outfielder was just acquired from the Astros on Wednesday and it didn’t take him long to earn a promotion to the big league club. Julks has hit .266/.358/.444 with five home runs and six swipes in 148 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this season. He could become an interesting option in deep leagues if he earns regular playing time with the White Sox.
