Colin Moran went 1-for-3 and drove in a run in Saturday’s Cactus League loss to the Guardians.
Moran finally got the Mariners on the board with an RBI single in the seventh inning that plated Tom Murphy. He hasn’t had the strongest spring training -- hitting just .214 (6-for-28) with one run scored and one RBI -- but the fact that he’s still in camp means that he has at least an outside shot at cracking the Opening Day roster still.

Mariners signed 1B/3B Colin Moran to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Moran provides the Mariners with some extra infield depth behind corner infielders Ty France and Eugenio Suárez and will battle this spring in the Cactus League for a spot on Seattle’s Opening Day roster as a reserve. The 30-year-old infielder batted .211/.305/.376 with five homers in 128 plate appearances last season for the Pirates. He had launched double-digit homers in four consecutive seasons prior to last year. He’s a solid depth addition for Seattle entering the 2023 campaign.

    Reds released INF Colin Moran.
Moran was designated for assignment on Tuesday and will head into free agency after passing through waivers unclaimed. He was batting just .211/.305/.376 in 42 games this season with Cincinnati, and it might be tough for him to find another spot on a major league roster before the end of the year.

Reds designated INF Colin Moran for assignment.
Moran has been removed from the Reds’ 40-man roster for the second time this season to make room for outfielder Albert Almora Jr. to return from the injured list.

Reds selected the contract of INF Colin Moran from Triple-A Louisville.
Moran was jettisoned from the Reds’ 40-man roster back in late June, but has been brought back to replace an injured Mike Moustakas (calf) on Cincinnati’s active roster. The 29-year-old corner infielder has hit .210/.299/.360 with four home runs and 22 RBI in 117 plate appearances this season in the majors.

  • First Baseman #22
Reds sent INF Colin Moran outright to Triple-A Louisville.
Moran has accepted that assignment rather than electing free agency. The 29-year-old got pushed off Cincinnati’s major league roster earlier this month after slashing just .210/.299/.360 through 37 games played.

Reds optioned INF Colin Moran to Triple-A Louisville.
Moran was just recalled last week after a stint in the minors and is now headed back down. He has just a .659 OPS on the season.

Reds recalled INF Colin Moran from Triple-A Louisville.
Moran is starting at first base and batting seventh in his return to the Reds’ active roster Thursday versus the Diamondbacks. Joey Votto will take a turn at DH and hit cleanup. Moran has had some timely hits this year in the bigs but holds a meager .202/.284/.351 overall slash line.

Reds optioned INF Colin Moran to Triple-A Louisville.
It’s surprising that Moran even has an option left, but the Reds will use it since he wouldn’t be playing much with Joey Votto back in the fold. Moran has driven in 22 runs over 34 games this season, though he has just a .635 OPS.

Colin Moran homered for the fourth time in his last four games as the Reds outlasted the Brewers 14-11 in a slugfest in Cincinnati on Wednesday.
Moran clobbered his three-run homer off of Luis Perdomo in the eighth inning -- extending the Reds advantage to nine runs at 14-5. The Brewers came back to rally for six of their own in the ninth though, and Moran’s blast proved to be the difference. He also doubled in the ballgame, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored and three RBI. Even with his recent hot streak though, he’s still hitting just .215/.289/.431 with four homers and 20 RBI on the season.
