Astros OF prospect Colin Barber went 3-for-5 with two homers Sunday for High-A Asheville.
The pair of roundtrippers give Barber six on the season in his 37 games with the Tourists. With the three knocks, he’s now slashing a very strong .328/.436/.520, and he’s added four steals in his 37 games. Because of injuries and the pandemic, Barber was limited to just 44 games before this year, but the 21-year-old is one of the most talented prospects in the Houston system with a chance to hit for average and power with his left-handed swing. He’s at least a year away, but Barber has the tools to be provide a .280 or so average with 20-plus homers and double-digit steals. There’s obvious fantasy value in that type of profile.

Astros reassigned OF Colin Barber, OF Zach Daniels, LHP Ryan Hartman, RHP Blair Henley, 3B Grae Kessinger, and C Lorenzo Quintana to minor league camp.
Nothing to see here for the most part. Daniels is one of, if not the best power threat in the entire Houston system. Kessinger was the Astros second-round pick in 2019 that has solid contact skills but figures to be an option for the team in 2022. Hartman is mainly a finesse arm that could see time in the season as an emergency start and Henley has a high spin curveball that needs to work on his fastball.
