Rays and RHP Cole Sulser avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract.
No word yet on the financial terms. Sulser, who made 10 relief appearances last year between the Rays and Mets, was arbitration-eligible this offseason for the first time in his career. The 34-year-old has made 139 appearances in the big leagues dating back to 2019.

Rays optioned RHP Cole Sulser to Triple-A Durham.
With Colin Poche coming off the IL, the Rays needed to clear a spot in their bullpen, so Sulser will head to the minors. The 34-year-old has been good this season, pitching to a 2.76 ERA across 16 1/3 innings for the Rays and Mets with 15 strikeouts and just nine hits allowed. He has thrown five innings in the last four days, so the Rays are likely just bringing up a fresh arm for the bullpen. Expect to see Sulser back at some point this month.

Rays reinstated LHP Colin Poche (elbow) from the 15-day IL.
Poche was placed on the IL at the end of August with elbow inflammation but missed the minimum amount of days. The left-hander will return to a 3.67 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 31:13 K:BB ratio in 34 1/3 innings as a middle reliever in Tampa Bay. Cole Sulser was sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Cole Sulser will serve as the opener for the Rays against the Phillies on Monday.
Tyler Alexander will then follow in a bulk relief role. Neither is a recommended fantasy play.

Rays recalled RHP Cole Sulser from Triple-A Durham.
Sulser is back for another stint in Tampa Bay with lefty Colin Poche hitting the injured list with shoulder inflammation. The 34-year-old veteran reliever has made five appearances this season in the big leagues between the Mets and Rays.

Ray optioned RHP Cole Suler to Triple-A Durham.
This will clear a spot on the active roster for Ryan Pepiot (knee) who is set to return from the IL on Friday. Sulser has struggled this year with a 7.94 ERA in 5 2/3 innings for the Rays and Mets this season. He figures to operate as emergency organizational depth for the rest of this season.

Rays recalled RHP Cole Sulser from Triple-A Durham.
Sulser gives the Rays a fresh bullpen arm for the series finale against the Orioles. The 34-year-old will be a middle-inning option, and Tyler Alexander was optioned to Durham to make room on the roster.

Rays acquired RHP Cole Sulser from the Mets for cash considerations.
The 34-year-old right-hander had been designated for assignment by the Mets earlier in the week, so they were content to flip him for anything that they could get at this point. He had posted a 9.64 ERA and 1.92 WHIP in just 4 2/3 innings for the Mets prior to getting waived. He’ll function as bullpen depth at Triple-A Durham for the time being.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #54
Mets designated RHP Cole Sulser for assignment.
Sulser had a 9.64 ERA and 1.92 WHIP in 4 2/3 innings for the Mets this year. His spot on the 40-man roster will go to catcher Logan Porter. New York has seven days to trade Sulser or place him on waivers.
  • NYM Third Baseman #22
The Mets are bringing Brett Baty, catcher Joe Hudson and reliever Cole Sulser to London for this weekend’s series versus the Phillies.
One of the three will get added to the roster as a 27th man for the series. The other two will be around just in case someone gets hurt and the Mets want to make a roster move. We’re guessing Baty will get added to the roster, since playing in five Triple-A games would seem to be more beneficial to him than six days of no baseball. Baty homered twice for Triple-A Syracuse in his second game for the club Sunday.
