Cody Bradford (elbow) will incorporate breaking balls into his bullpen session for the first time on Tuesday since undergoing surgery to repair a UCL injury in his left elbow.
It will be the seventh bullpen session that the 27-year-old southpaw has thrown this offseason, but the first that won’t be comprised of all fastballs. Bradford is on schedule in his recovery and is still targeting May for a return to the Rangers.

Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young told reporters Cody Bradford (elbow) could be ready at some point next May.
The 27-year-old left-hander underwent surgery in June to repair a UCL injury in his left elbow. He underwent the internal brace procedure instead of the traditional Tommy John surgery, which is why his timeline to return is a bit quicker. Even on the conservative side, it sounds like he’ll be back with the Rangers before the All-Star break in 2026.

Cody Bradford underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to repair a UCL injury in his left elbow.
The 27-year-old southpaw underwent the internal brace procedure instead of the traditional Tommy John surgery, which should shave a couple of months off of the timeline for his return. He’ll obviously miss the remainder of the 2025 season but the Rangers expect that Bradford will pitch at some point in 2026.

Cody Bradford will undergo season-ending elbow surgery for a UCL injury, the Rangers announced.
It will be determined at the time of the surgery whether it’ll be Tommy John or an internal brace. Either way, he figures to miss the start of next year, though internal brace surgery could have him back in May or June. Tommy John would likely put him out at least through September. Bradford hadn’t pitched this season after hurting his elbow this spring. He had a 3.54 ERA in 13 starts and one relief appearance last year.

Cody Bradford (elbow) faced hitters on Wednesday in a 22-pitch live batting practice session.
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters they’re aiming to have Bradford built up to handle roughly five innings by early July. The 27-year-old lefty would presumably be an option for the club’s rotation mix at that point. He’s been out since spring training recovering from an elbow sprain.

Cody Bradford (elbow) will face hitters on Wednesday in a live batting practice session.
Bradford has been brought along slowly as he makes his way back from an elbow sprain that cropped up during the late stages of spring training. The 27-year-old southpaw figures to be ready for a rehab start at some point in the coming weeks.

Cody Bradford (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Thursday.
Bradford has thrown exclusively fastballs and changeup at the outset of his extended build-up process as he works his way back from a left elbow sprain that he suffered in the late stages of spring training. He’s still a ways off from making it back to Texas’ rotation, most likely at some point in June.

Rangers transferred LHP Cody Bradford from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list.
According to the last update received, Bradford, out with a sprained left elbow, is due to resume throwing in mid-April. Late May was the earliest he was going to return anyway, so this doesn’t make much of a difference.

Rangers placed LHP Cody Bradford on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 24, with a sprained left elbow.
Bradford is expected to resume throwing in mid-April, potentially setting him up for a return in the second half of May. That’s the optimistic scenario.

Rangers signed LHP Patrick Corbin to a one-year contract.
Corbin’s arrival provides the Rangers with an experienced back-end rotation stabilizer until Jon Gray (wrist) and Cody Bradford (elbow) are ready to return. We’re assuming that Jack Leiter’s rotation spot is secure following a strong spring, but the 35-year-old veteran’s presence puts some added pressure on Kumar Rocker in the lead up to Opening Day. It’s possible Texas will roll with a six-man rotation, but unless that happens, Rocker is likely the odd-man out. Corbin remains a perfectly cromulent innings-eater at this advanced stage of his career, but he offers virtually zero fantasy appeal after posting a lackluster 5.62 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 139/54 K/BB ratio across 174 2/3 innings (32 starts) last year for the Nationals.
