Twins signed RHP Chris Rowley to a minor league contract.
Rowley surrendered 20 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings last year with the Triple-A affiliate of the Padres. He was bothered by injuries throughout the summer and will be a minor league depth piece for Minnesota in 2020. The 29-year-old graduate of West Point owns a career 7.91 ERA in eight appearances at the MLB level.

Padres signed RHP Chris Rowley to a minor league contract.
Rowley made two appearances at the major league level in 2018 with the Blue Jays and came out of them with a 40.50 ERA. The 28-year-old right-hander will be minor league depth for the Padres in 2019.

Chris Rowley spanned five innings Thursday against the Rays, allowing four hits and two runs in a no-decision.
The West Point grad walked five and struck out three while throwing 51 of his 90 pitches for strikes. Rowley struggled with his control at times but kept the damage to a minimum. He left with the lead, though Tampa Bay eventually tied the game at three on an RBI double by Evan Longoria in the eighth inning. Even if he didn’t get the win, it was impressive to see Rowley match Rays starter Chris Archer in only his second major league start. He’ll face the Rays again in his next start Wednesday at Tropicana Field.

Chris Rowley lost to the Rays after giving up four runs in 3 1/3 innings Tuesday.
Rowley was able to give the Jays a solid start against this same Rays team five days ago, but he gave up two homers in the first two innings tonight and ended up striking out just batter. After three big-league starts, he has a 7/9 K/BB ratio in 13 2/3 innings. He shouldn’t last much longer in the Jays rotation.

Blue Jays optioned RHP Chris Rowley to Triple-A Buffalo.
Rowley, a 27-year-old West Point graduate, struggled to a 4.61 ERA and 1.68 WHIP over his first three major league starts. He could get another try after MLB rosters expand in September.

Blue Jays recalled RHP Chris Rowley from Triple-A Buffalo.
Rowley holds a 4.61 ERA over three starts with the big club this season. He’s likely to get some more chances this month with Marcus Stroman (elbow) going down.

Chris Rowley was victorious in his big league debut against the Pirates on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits over 5 1/3 innings.
The rookie right-hander walked one and struck out three on the afternoon. The only blemish on his day came on a two-out RBI single by Jordy Mercer in the second inning. Despite the strong start, it’s likely that he’s ticketed for a trip back to Triple-A after this start.

Blue Jays purchased the contract of RHP Chris Rowley from Triple-A Buffalo.
The 26-year-old hurler will make his major league debut on Saturday against the Pirates, taking the place of the injured Cesar Valdez. Rowley sports a 2.29 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 90/24 K/BB ratio across 106 1/3 innings between Double-A Buffalo and Triple-A New Hampshire. He could be worth a look as a streaming option against a Pirates’ team that is likely to be without Andrew McCutchen on Saturday.

Chris Rowley will start Saturday against the Pirates.
He’ll be filling in for Cesar Valdez, who was placed on the DL with a right shoulder impingement earlier this week. Rowley has done a solid job in the minors this year, working to a 2.29 ERA over 27 appearances including 11 starts between Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Buffalo. Saturday will mark his major league debut.

Chris Rowley was roughed up for four runs -- three earned -- in 1 1/3 innings in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.
The big blow was a two-run triple by Nicholas Castellanos, who actually circled the bases and scored due to a throwing error by shortstop Richard Urena. The 27-year-old Rowley reached the major leagues for the first time last year, recording a 6.75 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 18 2/3 innings. He is likely destined to start the season at Triple-A Buffalo.
