  • TEX Relief Pitcher #45
Rangers designated RHP Chase Anderson for assignment.
The Rangers needed to clear space on the active roster for Kumar Rocker, so they’ll move on from Anderson, who they just signed to a minor league contract at the beginning of August. The veteran will potentially land back with the Rangers if he clears waivers.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher
Rangers recalled RHP Kumar Rocker from Triple-A Round Rock.
The Rangers announced this move on Monday, but now it’s official. The 24-year-old has a 0.91 ERA and a 47/4 K/BB in 29 2/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season. He should throw around 80 pitches tonight against the Mariners which could be good enough for a win. Rocker is talented enough to be added in most formats. Chase Anderson was designated for assignment to make room.

Rangers signed RHP Chase Anderson to a minor league contract.
The deal, which was originally reported earlier this week, is now official. Anderson heads to the defending World Series champions as emergency pitching depth after posting a pedestrian 4.85 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 35/19 K/BB ratio across 52 innings (27 appearances, one start) earlier this year for the Red Sox, mostly in mop-up duty.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #48
Chase Anderson is signing a minor league contract with the Rangers, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.
Anderson was just let go by Boston after posting a 4.85 ERA and a 35/19 K/BB in 52 innings.

Red Sox RHP Chase Anderson declined a minor league assignment and elected to become a free agent.
Anderson was designated for assignment on Sunday but cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A. However, the veteran declined that assignment and is expected to hit free agency where he hopes to latch on with another organization. He made 27 appearances for Boston with a 4.85 ERA over 52 innings with a 35/19 K/BB.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #48
Red Sox designated RHP Chase Anderson for assignment.
Anderson and Reese McGuire were designated for assignment to make room for the recently-acquired James Paxton and Danny Jensen. Anderson made 27 appearances for Boston with a 4.85 ERA over 52 innings with a 35/19 K/BB. He’s now on the waiver wire, and he can elect free agency if he goes unclaimed or isn’t traded He can also report back to Triple-A if not released.

Chase Anderson allowed five runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings in a loss to the Guardians on Thursday.
Chase Anderson was moved from the bullpen into the rotation to help the Red Sox cover for injuries to Brayan Bello and Garrett Whitlock and it didn’t go well. He also walked three and struck out nobody on the afternoon. Anderson may get another opportunity next week against the Giants with the Red Sox staff so beat up, but he’s not worthy of a pick-up in fantasy leagues.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #48
Chase Anderson will start for the Red Sox on Thursday against the Guardians.
The Red Sox are in a tough spot with Brayan Bello heading to the injured list and need to scramble to fill his spot in the starting rotation. Anderson has been used in a multi-inning role out of the bullpen, but he has thrown 25 or fewer pitches in each of his last four outings. Don’t expect him to work more than two or three innings before passing the baton on Thursday.

Chase Anderson tossed three scoreless innings to earn a save in his Red Sox debut against the A’s on Monday.
It’s the second career save for Anderson. The other, also of the three-inning variety, came in his season debut last year for the Rays. Tampa Bay had him make one more appearance afterwards and then dropped him after five scoreless innings. He’ll hope that history doesn’t repeat itself in that regard.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #47
Red Sox signed RHP Chase Anderson to a one-year contract.
Boston made the contract official on Sunday, and Anderson will throw in a minor league spring training game within the next couple of days. Anderson recently opted out of his minor league contract with the Pirates after posting a 2.45 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, and 9/3 K/BB ratio across 11 innings.
