White Sox released RHP Chad Kuhl.
Kuhl was designated for assignment on Saturday. He’ll get a little hard start on free agency now.

White Sox designated RHP Chad Kuhl for assignment.
Kuhl has been one of the White Sox’s most trusted relievers, but that didn’t earn him a chance to finish out the year with the team. He wound up with a 5.06 ERA in 53 1/3 innings, all of which came after June 16.

Chad Kuhl recorded his second career save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Astros.
Jon Singleton homered off him, but it wasn’t enough in a two-run game. Kuhl’s previous save came with the Nationals last year. He was the choice in the ninth tonight despite giving up five runs in his last appearance against the Yankees. He might remain the choice going forward, but even those desperate for saves probably ought to stay away. The save tonight was the first for the White Sox since Michael Kopech got his last for the team on July 10.

Chad Kuhl allowed six hits and four earned runs in four innings of work on Sunday against the Pirates. He struck out four and walked two.
Kuhl came in as the bulk-guy for the White Sox against his former team after Michael Soroka left the game after three pitches with a shoulder injury. He’s pitched in a similar type of bulk role so far this season and has been unspectacular doing so.

White Sox’ manager Pedro Grifol told reporters after Saturday’s game that Chad Kuhl is likely to start in Sunday’s first-half finale against the Pirates.
Grifol also noted that Jared Shuster could get the call, but it’ll more than likely be Kuhl. The 31-year-old right-hander holds a 4.15 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 16/12 K/BB ratio over 17 1/3 innings on the season. He’s certainly not a recommended streaming option from a fantasy perspective.

White Sox selected the contract of RHP Chad Kuhl from Triple-A Charlotte.
The 31-year-old hurler had been utilized primarily as a starter at Triple-A Charlotte, posting a 4.34 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 42/33 K/B ratio over 56 innings in his 13 appearances (11 starts). It’s unclear if he’s around to make a spot start for the White Sox or if he’ll work as a long man out of the bullpen. Either way, he can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

White Sox signed RHP Chad Kuhl to a minor league contract.
Kuhl will presumably receive an invitation to spring training where he’ll likely compete for a spot in Chicago’s season-opening starting rotation. The 31-year-old righty was released by the Nationals last June after struggling in 16 appearances (five starts), but has been a serviceable innings-eater at the big league level in previous seasons. He’s a worthwhile zero-risk lottery ticket for the rebuilding White Sox.

    Nationals released RHP Chad Kuhl.
Kuhl passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment over the weekend. The 30-year-old righty struggled in his transition to a relief role and has been cut loose after posting an inflated 8.45 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and 31/28 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings (16 appearances, five starts).

Nationals designated RHP Chad Kuhl for assignment.
The 30-year-old hurler simply hasn’t gotten the job done for the Nationals this season -- compiling a miserable 8.45 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and a 31/28 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 innings in his 16 appearances (six starts). He could attract some interest on waivers.

Chad Kuhl took a blown save in the eighth and a loss in the ninth Sunday against the Royals.
The blown save was his own fault, as he gave up a homer to Edward Olivares in the eighth. However, Kurl likely would have gotten through the ninth without incident if not for a Dominic Smith error on an MJ Melendez grounder. Melendez reached second on the miscue, and Michael Massey singled him in with two outs. Kuhl was charged with protecting the lead today because Kyle Finnegan, Hunter Harvey and Carl Edwards Jr. had all pitched three of the previous four days.
