Mariners optioned RHP Casey Legumina to the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League Mariners.
The Mariners reinstated Logan Evans from the injured list on Sunday and needed to clear a spot in the bullpen in order to do so. Unfortunately for Legumina, he was the odd man out this time around. The 28-year-old hurler has posted a 5.62 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and a 55/25 K/BB ratio over 49 2/3 innings in 48 appearances with the M’s.

Legumina has already made 45 appearances out of the Mariners’ bullpen this season, posting a 5.79 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 51/23 K/BB ratio over 46 2/3 innings of work. He’ll return to a middle relief role for manager Dan Wilson. José Castillo was designated for assignment in a corresponding move on Friday.

Mariners optioned RHP Casey Legumina to Triple-A Tacoma.
Legumina was lit up for five runs over two innings Monday, so he’ll pay the price and head back to Tacoma. The 28-year-old will very likely be back with Seattle before 2025 comes to a close.

Legumina rejoins Seattle’s relief mix ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Orioles with Collin Snider heading to the injured list. The 27-year-old righty has posted a pedestrian 4.58 ERA across 19 2/3 innings (20 appearances) this season in the big leagues.

Legumina has been shipped to the minors to allow Seattle to activate Bryce Miller to start Saturday’s game against the Twins. The 27-year-old righty has compiled a serviceable 4.58 ERA across 19 2/3 innings (20 appearances) this season in the big leagues.

Mariners are planning on adding Casey Lawrence to the roster and using him as a bulk guy in Tuesday’s game.
Casey Legumina will serve as an opener against the White Sox before Lawrence takes over. With George Kirby on the way back, Lawrence could be DFA’d after the game.

Mariners recalled RHP Casey Legumina from Triple-A Tacoma.
Legumina gives the Mariners some depth in their bullpen, and he’ll replace Luis F. Castillo on the roster; with Castillo being optioned to Triple-A on Thursday.

Mariners optioned RHP Casey Legumina, C Blake Hunt and INF Leo Rivas to Triple-A Tacoma; reassigned C Harry Ford and LHP Brandyn Garcia to minor league camp.
No real surprises here. It’s worth noting for dynasty purposes that Ford put together an impressive spring in Cactus League action, batting .421 (8-for-19) with one homer and three steals in 12 contests. His fantasy value tanked last year in the upper minors, but his athleticism is unparalleled at the catcher position.

Mariners designated LHP Jhonathan Díaz for assignment.
The Mariners acquired RHP Casey Legumina from the Reds and needed to make room on the 40-man roster, so they’ll move on from Díaz. The 28-year-old registered a 4.66 ERA in 9 2/3 innings with the Mariners in 2024 and had a 4.36 ERA in 23 games (22 starts) in Triple-A with a 120/52 K/BB ratio.

Mariners acquired RHP Casey Legumina from the Reds for cash considerations.
The Reds designated Legumina for assignment last week and were able to spring him to the Mariners for cash. The 27-year-old had an 8.68 ERA, 1.82 WHIP, and a 7/2 K/BB ratio in 9 1/3 innings. However, in 58 1/3 innings at Triple-A Louisville, Legumina posted a 3.24 ERA and 57/18 K/BB ratio. The Mariners designated Jhonathan Díaz for assignment in a corresponding move.
