Diamondbacks optioned RHP Casey Daigle to Triple-A Tucson.
Daigle loses his bullpen spot to Jorge Julio. He had a 3.65 ERA in 12 1/3 innings.

Diamondbacks recalled RHP Casey Daigle from Triple-A Tuscon.
Daigle has a 3.65 ERA in 12 1/3 innings for Arizona this season. He’ll get another look in middle relief.
  • SF Relief Pitcher
Casey Daigle lasted 4 2/3 innings against the Expos tonight, allowing four runs and seven hits.
The Diamondbacks have another pitcher in their rotation due for a demotion, but they don’t have anyone left to replace Diagle. Maybe Andrew Good will get a shot. A trade shouldn’t be ruled out. Shea Hillenbrand to the Braves for Jaret Wright and a prospect?

Diamondbacks designated RHP Casey Daigle for assignment.
Unless a team really wants Jennie Finch hanging around in spring training -- she’d have to be a bigger draw than Garth Brooks -- Daigle will go unclaimed and remain with the Diamondbacks.

Twins signed RHP Casey Daigle to a minor league contract.
Daigle, who last pitched in the majors for the Diamondbacks in May 2006, is just filler for Rochester’s pitching staff. He went 10-5 with a 6.59 ERA in 16 starts and 26 relief appearances for Triple-A Tucson last season.

Casey Daigle will be Arizona’s No. 4 starter, with Steve Sparks occupying the fifth spot.
When the Diamondbacks do opt to bypass their fifth starter, it will be Sparks who gets skipped. We think Ryan Vogelsong and Tyler Yates are better sleepers, but Daigle is worth watching.

Casey Daigle, competing with Steve Sparks for a rotation spot, allowed six runs -- five earned -- in 3 1/3 innings today against the A’s.
Daigle has given up 13 runs -- eight earned -- in 15 2/3 innings this spring. He’s almost certain to begin the season at Triple-A Tucson.

Casey Daigle held the Rangers to one run and two hits in six innings today. He also homered off Ricardo Rodriguez.
If the Diamondbacks give up on Shane Reynolds, Daigle would be the top candidate to claim his rotation spot. Steve Sparks has all but guaranteed himself a job. Although there’s little chance of him going Brandon Webb on the league, Daigle would be worth watching if he does get the spot.

Casey Daigle was better today, yielding six runs in four-plus innings in a Coors Field start.
Mike Koplove bailed Daigle out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning, preserving the rookie’s 18.90 ERA. Daigle may only get one more start before the Diamondbacks start looking for an alternative.
