Indians signed first-round pick SS Carson Tucker.
Tucker, the 23rd overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, reportedly received a signing bonus worth exactly $2 million. His brother, Cole Tucker, got a $1.4 million bonus from the Pirates after they selected him in the first round in 2014. The younger Tucker was a star at Mountain Pointe High School in Arizona and shows a well-rounded offensive approach for his age. It’s not certain that he will be able to stick at shortstop long term.

Indians selected SS Carson Tucker of Mountain Pointe HS in Arizona with the 23rd pick of the 2020 MLB Draft.
Tucker is the younger brother of Cole Tucker, a former first-round pick of the Pirates. Carson offers more offensive projection than big brother; showing a swing that should allow him to make hard contact all over the field, and also posting above-average run times. He’s going to need to add loft to his swing to hit for power, but he doesn’t turn 19 until January, so there’s time for Tucker to do just that. Tucker is not considered a lock to stick at shortstop, but even if he has to move to the outfield, there’s still fantasy upside that can be unlocked.
