Mets re-signed RHP Carlos Guzman to a minor league contract.
Guzman made 35 appearances at the upper levels with the Mets in 2024 while finishing with a 3.88 ERA and 51/26 K/BB over his 48 2/3 innings. The 26-year-old right-hander will need to be added to the 40-man roster to make appearances with New York in 2025, and that doesn’t seem terribly likely at this stage of his career.

Mets signed RHP Carlos Guzman to a minor league contract.
Guzman is a hard-throwing righty reliever who registered a respectable 4.67 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 93/48 K/BB ratio across 86 2/3 innings (40 appearances, one start) this past season across three levels in the Cubs’ minor league system. The 25-year-old righty wrapped up the year in Triple-A and could get a shot in the big leagues for the Mets at some point during the 2024 season.
