Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa were both lifted from Monday’s blowout loss after one at-bat.
There didn’t appear to be any injuries here, just the Twins getting two of their best players a half-day off in what turned out to be a 9-0 loss. Both Buxton and Correa were 0-for-1 before exiting.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Carlos Correa went 0-for-2 and drew a walk as the Twins eked out a 2-1 victory over the Red Sox.
You know you’re having a rough spring when you draw a walk and it’s one of your better days. The 30-year-old shortstop is hitting a woeful .114 (4-for-35) with no homers and just two RBI in Grapefruit League action. Correa’s ADP has seemingly settled in right around pick 225 overall in recent mixed league drafts, leaving plenty of room for profit if he’s able to stay on the field for most of the 2025 campaign.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Bobby Nightengale of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports that the Twins have received calls in regards to a potential trade of Carlos Correa.
Nightengale doesn’t indicate that there’s any sign of a potential deal, but it’s still an interesting idea for a club that reportedly needs to trim payroll. Correa is owed over $120 million over the next four seasons, and while he’s been a productive player when healthy, he’s been limited to 221 games over the last two years because of injuries. Because of his skill set, Correa would certainly see interest on the trade market, but his contract and durability may make the return lighter than the Twins would be hoping for.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Carlos Correa is not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Orioles.
With the Twins eliminated, Correa may get a chance to rest over these final two games after returning from plantar fasciitis. Brooks Lee gets the nod at shortstop in his place.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with a homer and two walks against the Marlins in Thursday’s loss.
Both walks were intentional, and some help would have been nice tonight. Correa’s homer was his first in 10 games since he came off the injured list. He’s hit 14 in 85 games this season, and his .313/.390/.522 line has made him one of the AL’s very best players when he’s been able to take the field.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with four RBI against the Guardians on Wednesday.
Correa was responsible for all four of the Twins’ runs in just his third game back since returning from injury. He drove in a run on a fielder’s choice in the first inning and singled in another in the fifth inning. His bases-loaded two-run single in the top of the 10th inning, gave the Twins a 4-2 advantage. Correa is hitting .315 with a .910 OPS and 51 RBI on the year.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Carlos Correa is hitting sixth and playing shortstop Saturday against the Reds.
Correa will be playing for the first time in over two months while dealing with plantar fasciitis. The 29-year-old will likely move up in the lineup in the coming days, but for now will (potentially) have the chance to drive in players like Trevor Larnach and Byron Buxton.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Twins activated SS Carlos Correa from 10-day injured list.
Correa hasn’t played since July 12th due to plantar fasciitis and he’s returning in the thick of a playoff push for Minnesota without the benefit of a rehab assignment. Correa was enjoying an All-Star season before the injury, but don’t be surprised if he’s rusty upon return. He’s hitting .308 with 13 home runs and 47 RBI on the year.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
The Twins will activate Carlos Correa and send down DaShawn Keirsey Jr. prior to Saturday’s game.
Correa will be returning from plantar fasciitis without the benefit of a rehab assignment. Don’t be surprised if he gets off to a slow start offensively. Still, the Twins want his defense back at shortstop. Brooks Lee, who just hasn’t impressed with the bat in 38 major league games, will likely shift into a part-time role as a utilityman.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Despite sprinting three of the last four days, a “very encouraged” Carlos Correa indicated that his foot is feeling better than it has in quite some time.
The Athletic’s Dan Hayes said Correa was so excited about his progress that he approached reporters to provide the update. Correa is going to need to some at-bats after missing two months with plantar fasciitis, but it seems like he might finally be over the hump.
