Mets optioned INF Luisangel Acuña and LHP Kolton Ingram to Triple-A Syracuse; reassigned INF Jeff Williams, OF Drew Gilbert, LHP Danny Young, C Kevin Parada and RHPs Christian Scott, Mike Vasil, Cam Robinson and Eric Orze to minor league camp.
Acuña, Gilbert, Scott and Williams are the headline inclusions in the first round of spring cuts from Mets camp. Scott has looked extremely impressive this spring and figures to blossom into one of the top pitching prospects in baseball, if he’s not there already in dynasty circles. Gilbert and Williams are the closest to the big leagues among the position players and are among the top overall prospects in the game from a fantasy standpoint.

Mets signed RHP Cam Robinson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Robinson is a former Brewers prospect, so the move shouldn’t come as a surprise with David Stearns now in New York. Robinson leads the Minors with 53 saves from 2021-23, including 25 saves in 2022 with a 2.49 ERA and an 84/30 K/BB ratio in 65 innings. In 2023, the 24-year-old lost his command a bit, posting a 58/39 K/BB ratio across 50 2/3 innings which led to a 1.91 WHIP with 15 saves. Robinson uses a cutter as his primary fastball and pairs that with a sweeper and curve combination that gives him strikeout upside when he has a feel for his pitches. Given his extensive experience at the end of games and the fact that he’s still young, this is a smart gamble for the Mets on a minor league deal.

Brewers sent RHP Cam Robinson outright to Triple-A Nashville.
Robinson went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain with the Brewers as organizational pitching depth.

Brewers designated RHP Cam Robinson for assignment.
Robinson, a reliever added to the Brewers’ 40-man after last season, has had a miserable time this year, posting an 8.55 ERA in 20 innings between Double- and Triple-A. In part because he’s walked 20 batters, he’s already allowed more runs (21) than he did in 65 innings (19) last year.

Brewers optioned RHP Cam Robinson to Triple-A Nashville.
Robinson was added to the club’s 40-man roster back in November to protect him from the Rule 5 draft after he punched out 84 batters over 65 innings in the minor leagues. He’ll begin the season in the bullpen at Triple-A Nashville, just one step away from his big league debut.

Brewers selected the contract of RHP Cam Robinson from Triple-A Nashville.
Robinson was a 23rd-round draft pick back in 2017, had a career year this season, and is now protected from the Rule 5 draft. Robinson pitched across three levels, going from High-A to Triple-A, and struck out 84 batters over 65 innings. He had a tough time in Triple-A but a 6.92 ERA over 13 innings screams small sample size. He should return to Nashville and should get a cup of coffee sometime next summer.
