  • ATL Starting Pitcher
Braves signed first-round pick LHP Cam Caminiti.
The Braves were the beneficiaries of Caminiti falling in the draft, getting perhaps the top prep arm in the class all the way down at pick 24. The two sides agreed to a deal at full slot value, meaning Caminiti will receive a signing bonus of $3,556,300 according to Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com. The 17-year-old southpaw is several years away from potentially contributing at the game’s highest level, but his upside is extremely intriguing.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher
Atlanta selected Saguaro HS (AZ) LHP Cam Caminiti with the No. 24 selection of the 2024 MLB Draft.
Caminiti is the cousin of former MVP Ken Caminiti, and the first prep pitcher selected. The 17-year-old (18 in August) southpaw has three plus pitches at his disposal, and he continues to improve his feel for pitching with a good chance to have the type of command that would allow him to be a starting pitcher. He’s an excellent athlete, and his 92-94 mph fastball will likely be a high 90s offering as he fills out his 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame. The upside for Caminiti is palpable, but prep arms are always the riskiest fantasy investments.
