Phillies optioned OF Cal Stevenson to the spring training complex.
Stevenson, who got a couple of chances to start over Johan Rojas in center against righties last week, was 6-for-24 with six RBI in limited action for the Phillies.
  • PHI Center Fielder #47
Phillies recalled OF Cal Stevenson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Stevenson was called up in mid-August when Austin Hays went on the IL with a hamstring injury, and he’s getting called up again with Hays now on the IL with a kidney infection. Stevenson has just two hits in 12 plate appearances for the Phillies this season but is hitting .302 in 101 games at Triple-A with eight home runs and 29 steals. He figures to remain on the bench for the Phillies and can be left off fantasy radars.
  • PHI Center Fielder #9
Phillies placed OF Austin Hays on the 10-day IL with a kidney infection.
Hays has been held out of the lineup the last two days and that might explain why. The 29-year-old has been a regular starter for the Phillies since coming over from Baltimore at the trade deadline, but he’s hit just .254/.275/.373 with one home run, five RBI, and seven runs scored in 19 games. Fantasy managers can do better. Cal Stevenson was called up to take his place on the active roster, and there is no timeline right now for Hays’ return.

Phillies optioned OF Cal Stevenson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Stevenson was recalled from Triple-A a couple of weeks ago when Austin Hays (hamstring) landed on the injured list, and now that Hays is returning on Friday he’ll return to an everyday role back there. The 27-year-old outfielder went 2-for-10 (.200) with an RBI and a 1/2 K/BB ratio during his brief stay with the big-league club.
  • PHI Center Fielder #47
Phillies selected the contract of OF Cal Stevenson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The 27-year-old outfielder has been crushing it at Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season — slashing .307/.420/.488 with seven homers, 39 RBI, 27 stolen bases and a 59/58 K/BB ratio across 353 plate appearances. He’ll add depth to the Phillies’ outfield while Austin Hays (hamstring) is shelved.
  • PHI Center Fielder #4
Phillies reassigned INF/OF Scott Kingery and OFs David Dahl and Cal Stevenson to minor league camp.
Kingery, Dahl and Stevenson were never expected to make the Phillies’ Opening Day roster and will likely stick around at Triple-A Lehigh Valley as extra organizational depth.
  • PHI Center Fielder #47
Phillies sent OF Cal Stevenson outright to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
It’s his first outright assignment, so he doesn’t have the option of declaring free agency. He’ll head to Lehigh Valley and hope to earn a look later.

  • PHI Center Fielder #47
Phillies designated OF Cal Stevenson for assignment.
The move clears a spot for Drew Ellis to be added to the active roster. The 26-year-old Stevenson was just claimed off waivers from the Giants a few days ago, but now he could be on the move again.

  • PHI Center Fielder #47
Phillies claimed OF Cal Stevenson off of waivers from the Giants.
He was then optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 26-year-old outfielder has gone hitless in nine at-bats at the big league level this season and holds a miserable .145/.259/.188 slash line and 25/11 K/BB ratio over 83 career plate appearances at the highest level. He’ll add outfield depth in the upper minors for the Phillies.

  • PHI Center Fielder #47
Giants designated OF Cal Stevenson for assignment.
Stevenson is a roster casualty with the Giants adding multiple players in advance of Friday’s game. The 26-year-old went 0-for-9 in six games with the Giants before being sent down to Triple-A earlier this month.
