  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Twins transferred RHP Brock Stewart from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list.
Stewart will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery. He had a 5.17 ERA in 16 appearances for the Twins this season, with eight of the nine runs he allowed coming in three outings in between IL stints last month.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Brock Stewart will require season-ending shoulder surgery, but he expects to be ready for spring training.
It seems this will just be a cleanup. Aside from one week last month before he went back on the IL, Stewart has looked terrific in limited action for the Twins the last two seasons. Unfortunately, he just hasn’t been able to stay healthy.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Twins placed RHP Brock Stewart on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 30, with a right shoulder strain.
Stewart had given up eight runs in 2 1/3 innings since returning from a 2 1/2-month absence due to shoulder tendinitis, so it definitely seemed like something wasn’t quite right. This opens up a spot for Trevor Richards on Minnesota’s roster.
  • MIN Third Baseman #39
Twins designated INF Diego A. Castillo for assignment.
Castillo started four games for the Twins, going 2-for-6 with three runs scored and two RBI. He also hit .272/.379/.404 over 71 games in Triple-A this season. He was waived in order to make room for Brock Stewart to come off the 60-day IL.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Twins reinstated RHP Brock Stewart (shoulder) from the 60-day IL.
Stewart has been out since the beginning of May with shoulder tendinitis. His velocity has been down in his most recent rehab outings, but the Twins will look to have him help bolster their bullpen. Diego A. Castillo was designated for assignment to clear roster space.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Brock Stewart walked two in a scoreless inning Tuesday in his first rehab appearance for Triple-A St. Paul.
Stewart’s velocity was down about two mph from where he was before he hurt his shoulder at the beginning of May. He’ll probably make a couple of more appearances before rejoining the Twins after the break.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Brock Stewart will begin a rehab stint with an appearance Tuesday for Triple-A St. Paul.
Stewart has been out since the beginning of May with shoulder tendinitis. Assuming no setbacks, he’ll probably be activated right after the break ends.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Twins transferred RHP Brock Stewart to the 60-day injured list.
There haven’t been any setbacks in the 32-year-old hurler’s recovery from shoulder tendinitis, this was merely done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster for the promotion of Brooks Lee on Wednesday. Stewart is tentatively scheduled to rejoin the Twins’ bullpen before the end of July.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Brock Stewart (shoulder) is scheduled to throw two bullpen sessions this week.
Stewart has been out since early May due to shoulder tendinitis, but he appears to be creeping closer towards kicking off a rehab assignment. The 32-year-old righty should be ready to rejoin Minnesota’s high-leverage mix at some point next month.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Brock Stewart (shoulder) has progressed to flat-ground throwing from a distance of 90 feet.
Stewart has been out since early May due to right shoulder tendinitis and is just starting to get close to throwing bullpen sessions again. It’s looking like the hard-throwing reliever isn’t going to make it back to Minnesota until after next month’s All-Star break.
