Marlins signed C Brian Navarreto to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The only big league experience that the 30-year-old backstop has came with the Marlins during the truncated 2020 season in which he went 2-for-5 in the two games that he appeared in. He’ll add depth behind the plate during Grapefruit League action.

Brewers reassigned RHPs Jacob Misiorowski and Easton McGee, C Brian Navarreto and 3B Brock Wilken to minor league camp.
Misiorowski is arguably the biggest name here for Milwaukee as he possesses top-of-the-rotation stuff, but has an extremely wide range of potential outcomes. Wilken was the Brewers’ first-round pick last year and figures to move quickly though their system. McGee is still working his way back from injury, but could provide some extra pitching depth at some point.

Brewers signed C Brian Navarreto to a minor league contract.
Navarreto appeared in a pair of contests during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign with the Marlins. The 27-year-old backstop hit .214/.301/.418 with nine homers across three levels last year in Miami’s minor-league system. He’ll bolster the Brewers’ catching depth this upcoming season.

Marlins re-signed C Brian Navarreto to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Navarreto reached the majors in 2020 briefly for the first time. He’s merely organizational depth.

Marlins sent C Brian Navarreto outright to their alternate training site.
Navarreto passed through waivers without interest from other teams after being designated for assignment by Miami on Saturday. The 25-year-old will remain with the Marlins organization for now.

Marlins designated C Brian Navarreto for assignment.
Navarreto made his major league debut last Sunday and picked up two hits in the contest, but with Chad Wallach returning from the injured list there wasn’t room for the backup backstop on the roster. We’ll see if the 25-year-old can pass through waivers and stay in the organization.

Marlins purchased the contract of C Brian Navarreto from their alternate training site.
Navarreto, 25, has never played above Double-A and hasn’t hit at all in pro ball, but the Marlins are in need of catching depth with Francisco Cervelli (concussion) going down.
