Giants sent RHP Brett Bochy outright to Triple-A Sacramento.

The 28-year-old hurler appeared in four games with the big league club during the 2015 season, allowing just one hit and one walk while punching out three over three scoreless innings. He should have a chance to compete for a middle relief role in the Giants bullpen during the spring.

Brett Bochy has elected free agency.
The 28-year-old hurler, and son of Giants manager Bruce Bochy, appeared in four games at the big league level for the Giants in 2015, hurling three scoreless innings with a 3/1 K/BB ratio. He was removed from the 40-man roster earlier in the month. He’ll explore opportunities elsewhere, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him return on a minor league pact.

Bochy, the son of Giants manager Bruce Bochy, put up a 3.83 ERA with 47 strikeouts and 27 walks over 54 innings this season with the Grizzlies. The 27-year-old figures to pitch in middle relief during his first taste of the majors.

Brett Bochy recorded his first save of the 2013 season on Sunday for Triple-A Fresno.
The son of Giants’ manager Bruce Bochy, Brett, 24, was dominant last year for Double-A Richmond, posting a 2.53 ERA with 14 saves, 29 hits allowed and 69/18 K/BB in 53 1/3 innings. However, the right-hander has struggled this season since moving up to Triple-A Fresno in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League, as he owns a 4.19 ERA and 45/14 K/BB through 43 innings. The good news is that Bochy has seemingly turned the corner since the beginning of July with a 1.80 ERA and 12/2 K/BB in 10 innings. He should provide the Giants with bullpen depth during the final month of the season.
