Dodgers signed INF Brendon Davis to a minor league contract.
Davis heads to Los Angeles as extra infield depth after being released by the Tigers last July. The 26-year-old was a notable prospect a few years ago with the Angels when he launched 30 homers across a couple minor league levels during the 2021 season. He’s a low-risk lottery ticket for the Dodgers.

    Tigers released INF Brendon Davis.
Davis re-signed with the Tigers last November after being non-tendered and didn’t end up making it back to Detroit. The 25-year-old infielder was a notable prospect a few seasons ago, but hasn’t quite worked out. He got into three games last year for the Tigers in his big-league debut.
  • FA Third Baseman #74
Tigers reassigned INF Brendon Davis, SS Jermaine Palacios, LHP Miguel Del Pozo and RHP’s Kevin Castro and Miguel Díaz to minor league camp.
The latest batch of cuts from Tigers camp trims their spring training roster to just 41 players. There are some pretty notable inclusions here as both Davis and Palacios have spent time in the majors and projects as viable middle infield options. Del Pozo, Castro and Díaz figure to be up for Detroit as extra bullpen depth sometime this year.

Tigers re-signed SS Brendon Davis to a minor league contract.
Davis was non-tendered by the Tigers earlier this month and will return on a new contract. The 25-year-old infielder sipped a quick cup of coffee last year, getting into three games for Detroit towards the end of the regular season. He could get a shot in a reserve role next year.

  • FA Third Baseman #74
    Tigers non-tendered INF Brendon Davis.
Davis, 25, finally made his big league debut in 2022, though he went just 2-for-10 (.200) with three strikeouts in his limited playing time. Now, the team that he made his debut with, has cut him loose to look for opportunities. He’ll almost assuredly have to settle for a minor league deal this winter.

  • FA Third Baseman #74
Tigers designated INF Brendon Davis for assignment.
The 25-year-old broke though and made his big league debut in 2022, but went just 2-for-10 with three strikeouts in his limited action with the Tigers. He should pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to serve as minor league infield depth for the Tigers -- should he choose to stick around.

Brendon Davis is starting at third base and batting seventh on Saturday in his major-league debut against the Twins.
Davis was called up from Triple-A Toledo on Friday and will be making his debut on Saturday evening at Comerica Park. The 25-year-old infielder was claimed off waivers from the Angels back in May and hit .235/.340/.424 with 20 homers and eight steals in 589 plate appearances over 139 games this season at the Triple-A level.

  • FA Third Baseman #74
Tigers recalled INF/OF Brendon Davis from Triple-A Toledo.
Davis was claimed off waivers from the Angels back in May. He’ll be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.

Tigers claimed INF/OF Brendon Davis off waivers from the Angels.
Davis had a breakout 2021 season in the minors after the Angels scooped him up in the Triple-A Phase of the Rule 5 Draft. They recently tried to sneak the 24-year-old through waivers, though, and now he’s a Tiger. Davis has hit .243/.333/.463 with six homers and two steals in 2022 at the Triple-A level.

Angels optioned RHP Elvis Peguero, LHP Jhonathan Diaz and 3B Brendon Davis to Triple-A Salt Lake; reassigned RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon, INF Kean Wong, RHP’s Davis Daniel and Luis Ledo, SS Jacob Gatewood and OF Dillon Thomas to minor league camp.
No real surprises among the first round of cuts from Angels’ big-league camp. Perhaps the most notable inclusion is Ponce de Leon, who was vying for a spot in Los Angeles’s Opening Day rotation.
