The Athletic’s Matt Gelb said that the Phillies “will be connected to the biggest offseason prize, Juan Soto, all winter.”
Gelb points out that Soto “has maintained a close relationship with Phillies hitting coach Kevin Long” and that the Phillies will certainly not let payroll get in the way of any improvements that could be made to the team this offseason. While Nick Castellanos is likely returning with two years left on his contract, Gelb suggests the team could move on from one or both of Brandon Marsh and Johan Rojas in order to free up space for Soto. “The Phillies, at least, could raise the price for a rival to sign Soto” which means we should see the Phillies involved in the Soto sweepstakes for a while this offseason. If his primary objective is to win a World Series, he won’t find many teams with a better chance in 2025.
  • PHI Third Baseman #28
Alec Bohm is hitting fifth and playing third base against the Mets on Tuesday in Game 3 of the NLDS.
Bohm was benched for Game 2 against New York, but even after going hitless off the bench the 28-year-old will be back on the hot corner against southpaw Sean Manaea. Edmundo Sosa is still in the lineup with Bryson Stott sitting against the left-hander, and Austin Hays gets the start in left with Brandon Marsh on the bench to begin play. The full lineup for Philadelphia as they look to take a 2-1 series lead: DH Kyle Schwarber, SS Trea Turner, 1B Bryce Harper, RF Nick Castellanos, 3B Bohm, C J.T. Realmuto, LF Austin Hays, 2B Sosa, and CF Johan Rojas.
  • PHI Right Fielder #16
Brandon Marsh hit a solo homer in a loss to the Brewers on Monday.
Marsh got the Phillies on the board with a solo blast off Aaron Civale. The 26-year-old is up to 16 homers and 56 RBI, and it’s worth pointing out that’s over 125 games after missing some time with injury. Marsh is a useable fantasy option who has also added 16 steals, but this might just be what he is at this stage. Pretty good, not great.
  • PHI Right Fielder #16
Brandon Marsh went 3-for-3 with a double and a hit by pitch against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
Marsh has picked it back up of late, batting .379 with two homers, four doubles and two steals in his last 11 games. He reached base eight times in the two games against the Blue Jays.
  • PHI Right Fielder #16
Brandon Marsh went 2-for-4 with a double and a three-run home run against the Braves on Thursday.
Marsh’s home run was his 14th of the year. He hit a three-run shot off Charlie Morton in the sixth inning. Marsh has hammered right-handed pitching this year with each of his 14 home runs coming against righties. He’s hitting .246 with a .743 OPS and 51 RBI on the season.
  • PHI Right Fielder #16
Brandon Marsh went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Monday in the Phillies’ loss to the Yankees.
Marsh was one of the few bright spots for Philadelphia during Monday’s one-sided affair as he tattooed a fourth-inning homer off burgeoning Yankees ace Luis Gil before adding a run-scoring single a couple frames later. The 26-year-old corner outfielder figures to continue playing regularly against right-handed pitching and has five homers and four steals over his last 30 games to go along with a respectable .253 (24-for-95) batting average.
  • PHI Right Fielder #16
Brandon Marsh is in the Phillies starting lineup on Wednesday against the Twins.
Marsh missed Monday’s game with a sore elbow but not only returned on Tuesday but will be back in the lineup on Wednesday even against a left-handed pitcher. Even with Marsh in a bit of a slump, the Phillies are clearly intent on keeping him in the lineup, which is good news for fantasy managers in deeper formats where Marsh’s mild power/speed combo can be useful.
  • PHI Right Fielder #16
Brandon Marsh (elbow) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Twins.
Marsh is back in left field and batting seventh after sitting out Monday’s game due to right elbow soreness. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. The 26-year-old outfielder is slumping a bit at the moment, batting just .205 (9-for-44) with two homers and two steals over his last 15 games.
  • PHI Right Fielder #16
Brandon Marsh is absent from Monday’s lineup because of right elbow soreness.
It’s supposed to be quite minor, but Marsh experienced soreness after a swing over the weekend. He’s expected back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game. Weston Wilson is playing in his place tonight.
  • PHI Right Fielder #16
Brandon Marsh is out of the Phillies lineup against a right-hander on Monday.
We assume this is injury related. Marsh is in a little slump at the moment, but he needs to be swinging after getting four days off last week and sitting twice against lefties since play resumed.
